DAVIS
I am looking for an answer to who was the father of Eli Davis,Sr.
Eli Davis,Sr. was born in 1775 no marriage or death dates, although his
wife's is listed as Judith Sanborn born 6-6-1776
and died 9-6-1860.
I received an ancestor chart that doesn't make sense. Before Eli Davis
Sr. there is the name of Abner Chase, listed as his
father.I'm hoping that there is some record
in the towns records of Sunapee that might shed some light on this.
My great grandmother Ruth Augusta
Davis married James Warren Trow
in Sunapee,N.Hampshire.
Her father was Eli Trow,Jr. born
12-29-1807 - died in Sunapee
4-15-1875. It states on this chart that there is a headstone in the
Sunapee Cemetary.
Any help is most appreciated. Jane Locke Bruer

of SHAW or BROWNLOW family members (i.e., Claremont had mill: these were mill

HALE
Am looking for David Hale's parents. I recently obtained ino on who his parents might be, need help in verifying this information. The line goes as follows: William HALE b 1722, wife unknown. William came to the US from Surrey, England on a cattle boat, landing at Newport, NH, April 16, 1742, the name of the boat was the
Justitia. I am told he had many children, one of whom was Silas HALE b 5-28-1760, d 03-15-1835, m Sarah Parsons. they lived in NH. Silas was a farmer and carpenter. Silas and Sarah apparently had John HALE b 1780 d 1822, m Sarah Josepha Severance Hale. This is where it gets muddy for me. I can locate a John Hale who married Sarah (Hills) Severance in NH, he fought in the Revolutionary war. I do not know who his sons are except that I am told that David is his son. David later moved to Maryland on his own. I just found out that David HALE was b 1815 in Newport, NH. David married Elizabeth A. Miller, daughter of Christoper Miller and Elizabeth Meyer. According to the history that I have, David was one of six brothers, two brothers went to Illinois and Ohio, the other three moved to
N.C, with David settling in Maryland. I know that there was a David Hale who married the famous Sarah Josepha Buell but have found that his descendants are not part of our line. Any information you can give me on William, Silas, John or David would be appreciated. If there is a cost involved for this research, please let me know in advance. Thank you, Kathy Hale Cage

John Heath b. Feb. 25, 1761 in Plaistow, who, I'm told, settled in

Johns were cousins. Help appreciated!

PHILLIPS
PHILLIPS, EBENEZER was soldier sent with a military unit made up of men from Marlborough and
Southborough Massachusetts to aid Captain Stevens against the Abnacki Indian
raids at Fort Number Four (Charlestown) in the summer of 1746.
Book by Saunders states that
on August 3, 1746 ---Ebenezer Phillips was killed during Abnacki Indian
Raid, dragged into the fort by his friends and was interred there.
I am trying to prove this statement with other sources.
Does anyone have any information
about the soldiers from Massachusetts who went to help defend Fort Number
Four in 1746.
How do I find those Military records that
might show muster rolls with names?
Are there any other history books or historical records that might document
the events of the summer of 1746?
Where else do I look?

YORK
Greetings,
My great-grandfather was Williard Kimpton York, born in Croyden, Sullivan Co, NH on May 28, 1865. My family
knows very little about him until he moved to Michigan.
We don't know his parent's names or if he had any siblings.
Since he was married in Michigan and died in Michigan, I
suppose a good start would be a birth record from NH,
or an 1870's NH Census lookup, right?
Thanks in advance for your time and your help.
Best wishes,
