Bradbury H. BARTLETT, Private; came to Pittsfield in 1854. He was a native of Grantham, where he was born March 18, 1829. His parents were Richard and Caroline O. (Williams) Bartlett. He worked at farming and shoemaking and attended the academy, and later studied medicine with Dr. Charles Berry. Oct 15, 1859, he married Mrs. Ruth French. Enlisted Sept 3, 1864, age 34 and was made hospital steward. He soon had charge of the hospital at one of the forts near Washington. He seems to have been peculiarly fitted for the medical profession, as his success in the army and his private practice shows. Mustered Out at Washington, DC on June 15, 1865. He died Dec 29, 1878 at Amherst, N. H., where he had been in the practice of his profession for several years.

John LEARY, Private, enlisted Sept 2 1864 in Concord, NH, age 20years, 2 months born in Ireland, June 1, 1844, Occupation: Harness Maker; Blue Eyes; Dark Hair; Dark Complexion; 5' 5½" Tall; Mustered out: June 15, 1865 at Washington, D.C.; Note: On the Company Muster Roll for March & April, 1865, the "remarks" are as follows:  "Detailed for duty in the 2. M Dept. per S.O. # 68  April 22, 1865  - Due Sutter $7.50"; died on October 22, 1915, in the New Hampshire State hospital in Concord of "acute dilatation of the heart".  He is buried in the Leary family plot at Calvary Cemetery in Concord, NH.
