WHITCOMB, Nathan, born 1812 Stanstead Que Canada, enlisted from Lyman, Grafton, NH.; The "Roll of Honor: Civil War Union Soldiers" Vol XXV, National Cemetery, Fredericksburg, Virginia, page 127 shows: Whitcomb, N.; Private, Co. H, 9th N.H. Vols, Died 1862; Divison D, Section C, Grave No.79. Moved from "Phillips's farm, Stafford Co. Va." The 9th N.H. Vols were engaged in the battle of Fredericksburg under the command of Col Titus losing 4 killed, 68 wounded and 12 missing Dec 12-15, 1862.
