Lewis Downung EVANS, son of Nathaniel, born Sullivan, while his father kept a store in Sullivan, which then joined the east end of the dwelling. L. D. Evans enlisted, Apr. 23, 1861, as a private, under Edward E. Sturtevant. There is no further military record of him. He only saw some state service, apparently not being assigned to any regiment. Resided Hopkinton after the war.
