Town Site for
EPSOM
Merrimack County
to the ALHN New Hampshire, Merrimack County, Town of Epsom website. Epsom was incorporated in 1727 and land granted to taxpayers of Rye, Greenland and New Castle. A few settlers managed to live in the town as early as about 1740, but it was not until after the French and Indian Wars did the town begin to grow in earnest along the first twenty original home lots. History of the town is not well documented, though there are several short works, and many records have been lost through the years. The website for Epsom will try to fill in some of the gaps by tracing some of the families of the early settlers, and through their genealogy, try to fill in some of the vital statistics for the years in which there is no record. This information can be found in the Epsom Early Settlers web pages. Included is access to a genealogy database, death records, cemetery records, census information (1790-1880), stories, photos and town history.
