Gerard A. Francois
Gerard grew up in Jersey City, left high school
and joined the Army the day he turned 17, in 1947. He served in the Korean
War with Hq.Co.3rd Btn. 31st Inf. 7th Div. Went a shore at the Inchon
landing, when the war started. He was taken prisoner on December 2, 1950, at
the Chosin Reservoir. Gerard was released in 1953 and returned home to Jersey
City. He has the Key to the City, which he treasures.

Airman 1st class Andrew Herkalo, entered the Airforce 8/15/52.
Took basic at Sampson AFB. Took basic weapon school at Lowery AFB.
Served in Korea with the 95th Bomb Sq, K9 PUSAN West also K1 Pusan East.
Spent 30 months Altus AFB SAC.
He was discharged Aug 1956 and joined Sampson AFB Vets Asso.

Rudy Willemsen, S/Sgt USAF. Born in Hawthoren, NJ 27 Jun 1929, graduated
central High School, Paterson, NJ Jun 1947. Enlisted in the US Air Force 19
Oct.1950 and took basic training at Lackland AFB , San Antomio TX, attended
communications school at F.E.Warren AFB, Cheyenne WY then was stationed at March AFB,
Riverside CA, Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson AZ, Sidi Slimane AFB, French Morocco
and was honorably discharged at Walker AFB, Roswell NM in Oct 1954. Employed as
an Aerospace Engineer by Kearfott Guidance & Navigation of Little Falls, NJ
till retiring in May 1994. Now residing in Hawthorne, NJ. (Submitted by Rudy

Airman First Class William John "Hotdog" Hamlin.
Born March 21, 1930 in Delanco. He attended Burlington High School and enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 and was honorably discharged July 31, 1959. He lives in North Wilkesboro, NC.

William Earl Christian, Jr., was born on 31 March 1923 in Highland Park. He served as a radioman in the Navy during WWII. During the Korean Conflict, he was called again to active duty and served aboard the USS Robert L. Wilson (DDE 847). He was honorably discharged in November of 1951.

Maryon Trzaska, USM Sgt. born and raised in South River, NJ 1933-1998.
Served in the Korean war. Received a bronze star and purple heart.
Laid to rest in the Veterans cemetery, Arnytown, NJ.
