Chamberlain Cemetery

Town of Belfast

All Photos by Ron Taylor (2005)

The list and pictures provided by William A. Greene & Ronald G. Taylor from Visual Walk-thru of the cemetery on 9/14/2005.  Many of the stones are weather worn and extremely hard to read thereby allowing for possible errors.

Update 11/27/2005 - List was compared with listing completed in Sept. 1978 by Margaret Hodnet and additions and corrections applied.  Thanks to Mary Rhodes for transcribing.

This is an important historical cemetery with many of the earliest 1800 settlers.  The cemetery is well cared for with a fence completely surrounding the grounds and mowed often.  Fill has been properly added in many gravesites that have settled.  There are many gravesites without markers.

The cemetery is located on County Road 26 from Transit Bridge end approximately 1 mile on the right hand side of the highway before VanAllen Road.

This information is meant to help you in your quest for family.  As with all material provided by others,  you must verify using your own methods.  Please report any errors you may discover (with proof of correction needed)  so we can provide accuracy on the web.
