First Burying Ground Cemetery - Town of Rushford,NY

This very old cemetery is located on Brooks Avenue in the Town of Rushford.  It is a well kept, active cemetery.  The old section of the cemetery contains many stones that are just barely readable.  The following list was compiled several years ago by Homer Norton, former historian for the Town of Rushford.  Recording an old cemetery like this is a difficult job, as many of the old stones are barely discernable.   Hats off to Mr. Norton for even attempting it.  The list was updated (slightly) by a walk through with a digital camera in January 2006, by Mary Rhodes.
