Old Burns Cemetery 11.4 – aka/Bull Road Cemetery

Located on Bull Road, just off Route 961F.

This old cemetery is showing signs of neglect. Brush and debris were removed from it in 1977, and the cemetery has been kept mowed. There are many broken markers and many monuments are toppled over on their sides or lying flat on the ground.

The following recording was done by former Burns Town Historian Marjorie Mastin, (see accompanying news article and picture) and a handwritten copy was given to the Essential Club Free Library in Canaseraga New York. This transcription was taken from that record by Mary Rhodes. (2005)

RECORDING HISTORY -- Compiling information from grave markers in an old cemetery in Town of Burns are Mrs. Carolyn Oliver, left, a member of the town Bicentennial committee, and Mrs. Marjorie Mastin, Burns Town Historian. The cemetery which dates back to the early 1800s, is being cleaned up by workers in a CETA program.
