Sortore Cemetery - Town of Friendship, NY

The Sortore Cemetery is located in the Town of Friendship, on East Hill Road, just off Rt 31 heading to Scio. It is one of the oldest cemeteries in the county. The cemetery has been cleaned up and is being maintained. There are about 24 stones visible, only a handful are legible, and many are in delicate condition. An old handwritten paper in the historians office notes that there are two civil war veterans buried here, but I cannot identify their headstones definitively. Henry Sortore's headstone is clearly readable, as well as the metal plate placed on it by the DAR identifying him as a Soldier of the Revolutionary War.
