By agreement with the Board of Directors of Woodlawn Cemetery Association, permission was granted to us to transcribe and publish the complete records of Woodlawn Cemetery. 

During the spring/summer of 2005 Mary Rhodes, representing this website, has been diligently transcribing and walking the cemetery.

Notes:

  1. Many "Maiden" names are in the spreadsheets; Use your Browser Search "Find" button to search a page since they are in the second column.

  2. A few of the lettered spreadsheet pages are large files and download slowly; i.e. M, S, & W;  If using "dial-up" internet connection, be patient............

  3. How to read this list........
    This is an alphabetic listing of interments in the cemetery. When a spouse is evident on the marker, the man's first name is in parenthesis after the woman’s name. It is/was common practice to bury a spouse with his or her first husband or wife, so in many cases a woman is on a headstone with the name of her first husband.
    After a name, you will see a location expressed in alpha numeric terms. A3, means the grave is located in Section A of the cemetery, plot 3, etc.   Location markers are not always evident in the cemetery. Be aware that people in the same location are NOT always related to each other. Use the accompanying map to explore the cemetery and help  locate graves.

  4. Below are previous lists prepared by Tammy Wojtowicz and the Thelma Rogers Historical & Genealogical Society.  It was understood when they were previously published that they were not complete listings of the cemetery, but, were the best available at the time.  The lists are still maintained here as "another source".

The records shown above were copied from the tombstones by the members of the Thelma Rogers Genealogical and Historical Society, during the 1970's.  Only the older sections of the cemetery were read.  While every effort was made to ensure accuracy, human error is inevitable and there may be some inaccuracies in these listings.  Official records of the cemetery are kept by the Woodlawn Cemetery Association at their office and begin in 1903.
