BRAG Historical Society is located downstairs in the Bolivar Free Library.

An attendent is on duty on Mondays, 12-9pm and the phone to call on Mondays ONLY is (585) 928-2659.  It is open the rest of the week, the same hours as the library; Tues & Fri 12:30-4:30, Wed & Thurs 6-9, and Sat 12:30 3:30.

BRAG has all Allegany County census records, the Indian Census records, and the Bolivar Breeze Newspaper (1895-1965) on micro-fiche, over 100 family genealogies, yearbooks, 40,000 name database on computer, 8+ filing cabinets full of family group sheets, over 5,000 obituaries and military records on index cards, most of the local cemetery records, births, deaths and marriages.  

We cannot list all of the things that we have available for people to use in their researches.

DVD Available

BRAG has a DVD (approx. 2 hours) of the 2006 Pioneer
Oil Days parade, summer cruise, Wine and Cheese Gala
and the Cemetery Walk and Rushford Concert Band for
sale for $20 if picked up at BRAG. You can have them
mailed directly to you for $22.

You may order the 2007 DVD of the Pioneer Oil Days
activities which will also include the
Bolivar-Richburg Alumni Banquet of this year. These
are $20 and $22 if mailed.

Coming Soon.......a narrated DVD of the actual
shooting of Ron Smith's oil well, shot in 2005 and
video taped by Nora Wilson Wheeler. The cost on these
will be $10 ($12 if mailed) and you can place an order
for one now.
