Wellsville has long had the
reputation of being the worst town in
Allegany county, but as a correspondent writes, we think Richburg now goes
far ahead. Last Monday a 13-year-old boy in the Richburg school held the
Professor at bay by pointing two revolvers at him and exclaiming, "Halt!
Advance one step into this room and I will blow your head off."
We learned last evening that another boy, about the same age, stabbed a
boy with whom he was fighting at a school houe about a mile out of
Richburg. The result in neither case was not what is called serious, but it
shows what novel reading will do for boys.
