BETTY MATISON, 82

Homemaker

AUBURNDALE -- Mrs. Betty E. Matison of Auburndale died of heart failure Sunday (July 4, 2004) at Tandem Health Care in Winter Haven. She was 82.

Born in Lock Haven, Pa., on May 6, 1922, she came to Auburndale from Alfred, N.Y., in 1970. She was a homemaker. She was past president of the Auburndale Lioness Club. She was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Women's Circle.

Mrs. Matison was preceded in death by her husband, Ardean William "Matty" Matison. She is survived by her son, Mickey Matison, Winter Haven; daughters, Molly Bailey, Lake Alfred, Lynda Hally, Avon, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Lynda Hally, Amanda Matison, Nolen Bailey, and Hope Matison; one great-grandson, Timothy Baumer.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. Burial will be in Alfred Rural Cemetery, Alfred, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the March of Dimes, 1037 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland, or Habitat for Humanity of East Polk County, 3550 Recker Highway, Winter Haven.
