MARGARET W. BUNNELL

WELLSVILLE — Margaret W. Bunnell, 94, of 2033 Stannards Road, died Tuesday (March 28, 2006) in the Highland Healthcare Center in Wellsville after a long illness.

She was born on Oct. 17, 1911 in Wellsville the daughter of William F. &  Emma Weinhauer Williams.

She was a lifelong resident of Wellsville and a graduate of Wellsville High School and Syracuse University.

She retired from the Wellsville High School where she taught Mathematics until 1971.

On July 1, 1950 she was married to Herbert F. Bunnell in the home in Stannards that they have shared together for the past 55 years.

She was a member of the Stannards Methodist Church, Syracuse University Alumnae and Wellsville High School Alumnae.

She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Monday Club and the Professional Business Women’s Assoc.

After a retirement she was a volunteer at Jones Memorial Hospital and also delivered Meals on Wheels.

She was a known as a devoted teacher, enjoyed her family and was a world-wide traveler.

She is survived by her husband Herbert, great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sister Grace Wixon in 1943, brothers Kenneth in 1959, Roger in 1972 and Paul Williams in 2003. Also her stepfather Stanley Pinkham in 1985 and a niece Judy Williams in 1995 as well as a great nephew James R. Young in 1986.

There will be no visitation,

A private gravesite service in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville, will be held on Thursday. Rev. Regina Shaw, officiating. A memorial service will be held later at the families convenience.

Memorials may be made to the Stannards United Methodist Church, David A. Howe Library or Jones Memorial Hospital.
