OBITUARY - Submitted by Frank Devlin - Hatboro, PA

Belfast has lost another of her oldest and most respected citizens in the passing of Michael M. Burke, who died Friday night at his home, aged 91 years.

He was born in Portage and spent practically all of his life in and around Belfast.

His wife died on January 11, 1931.

He leaves five sons, two daughters, fifteen grandchildren and six great grand-children.

He was an honest and upright man and a tender father. Today we long in vain to hear the sound of his voice and his genial presence.

Those who mourn their loss are reminded that he is not dead, he is only asleep - resting after a long and well-spent life here; and would not if he could return to us. We can and must some day go to him.

            Not dead, but sleeping

            Night came releasing him

                        from labor -

When a hand from out of

                        darkness

            Touched him and he slept.

Funeral services were held on Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Father Ryan officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.

                                    Card of Thanks

The family of the late Michael Burke wishes to express sincere appreciation and warmest thanks to the many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted on the occasion of our recent bereavement.
