Mrs. Kenneth Clark

Belmont – Mrs. Dorothy E. Clark of 11 Austin St died Wednesday (Dec 1, 1976) at the Bethesda Community Hospital, Hornell, after a brief illness.

 Born Jan 15, 1906, at Belfast, she was a daughter of John and Pearl Gillette Torpey.  She had resided in Belmont since 1947.  On Aug 22, 1936 she married Kenneth Clark who survives.

 She was a graduate of the Plattsburg Normal School, class of 1928.  Prior to her retirement in 1970, she had taught school in the following communities:  Wellsville, Nunda, Friendship, Belmont and Fillmore.

 Mrs. Clark was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Belmont.

 Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Frank J. Clark of Arlington, VA; a daughter, Miss Joan E. Clark of National City, CA and a sister, Mrs. A. M. (Ellen) Holroyd of Dansville.

 Friends may call at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc Belmont, today from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (Dec 4, 1976) at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church preceded by a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 am. The Rev Joseph Hassler will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore.

 The Rosary will be recited at 8 pm Friday.

 Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Amity Rescue Squad of Belmont.
