Jan 15, 1902

 

Daniel Campbell, age 66 years of Garwood is dead.  His parents were Samuel and Sarah Campbell who were natives of Otsego.  Mr. Samuel Campbell was descended from a high Scotch family and his wife’s maiden name was Miss Spencer, a member of a respectable central NY stock.  Daniel came to Garwood (then Whitney Valley and Whitney Crossing) about fifty years ago, where he has since for the most of the time, worked as a blacksmith and farmer.  He served for the government in the “Construction Corp” at the time of the War of the Rebellion.  Surviving him is his widow, Mrs. Jennie Campbell, two sons and one daughter, nine brothers, two sisters and six grandchildren.  Funeral services at his late residence.  Officiating was Rev. C. Palmatier, Pastor of the Universalist Church, Perry, NY.  Burial Canaseraga Cemetery.
