Mrs. Susan A Coats Dies After Illness; Services Thursday
Whitesville – Mrs. Susan A Coats widow of Charles Coats died early yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harley Hawks, near
Independence. She had been ill for about three years.
A daughter of Frank and Josephine Wilson Payne, Mrs. Coats was born June 15, 1875 in the Town of Independence.
Besides Mrs. Hawks, another daughter, Mrs. Lewis Scoville of Whitesville survives with three sisters, Mrs. Edward Bean and Mrs. Effie Bean of North
Bingham, Pa. and Mrs. Rilla Cornell of Wellsville; a foster brother, Louis Sisby of Eldred, Pa and several grandchildren and great grand children. A son, Guy F.
Coats, died several years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon in the First Methodist Church here with Rev. L. R. Wood and Rev. Leland Bowman of
Whitesville and Rev. Clair Statham of Hammondsport officiating. Burial will be in Whitesville Rural Cemetery.
Friends are being received at the Hawks home.
