Blanca Garthwait, 83, of 4192 A Bolivar Road passed away on Monday November 21, 2005 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center.

     She was born April 10, 1922 in Talara, Peru, South America the daughter of Frederico Augusto and Blanca Rosa Ramos Lecca. In February of 1947 in Lima, Peru, she married Fred Garthwait who predeceased her in 1955.

     Blanca was a former employee of Jones Memorial Hospital and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. She had formerly resided with her daughter in Hornell for a number of years and more recently was a resident of Manor Hills in Wellsville for several years

     She is survived by 2 daughters, Joyce (David) Sykora of Weeki Wachee, FL and Jessica (Arthur) Burns of Cohocton, NY, 6 grandchildren, Shannon Sykora, Jayson (Chris) Sykora, Jess (Lauren) Burns, James Burns, Justin (Cara) Burns and Jacob Burns, 6 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Renee’ ValdeGuer of Miraflores, Peru’, Graceila Stevenson of Miami, FL and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased in addition to her husband by 2 sisters, Carola and Angelica.

     Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday November 25th at 11:00 am in the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville, with Rev. Monsignor Vincent Becker as celebrant. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery and memorial suggestions in lieu of flowers include the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY  - 2805 Wehrle Drive Ste 6 -  Williamsville,NY14221-7380.

     Arrangements are under the direction of the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc.
