Mrs. Lorenzo Gelser

 

Fillmore:  Mrs. Sara Gelser, a former Fillmore resident died Friday Aug 18, 1978 at the Extended Care Facility at Oneida, after a long illness.

 

Born in Wellsville, Feb 4, 1890 she was a daughter of John and Eliza Heers Brandes.  She married Robert Ingersoll, who predeceased her.  Later, she married Lorenzo Gelser, who also predeceased her.

 

Mrs. Gelser was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church.

 

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Otto (Jeannette) Shortell of Oneida, two grandchildren, two brothers, James Brandes of Leesburg, FL and Herbert Brandes of Batavia, two sisters, Mrs. Frances Brown and Miss Madora Brandes, both of Olean, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Friends are being received at the Kopler Funeral Home, 21 North Genesee Street, Fillmore Sunday from 7 to 9 pm where funeral services will be held Monday Aug  21, 1978 at 11 am.  The Rev. Richard D. Webster pastor of the Fillmore United Methodist Church will officiate.  Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Town of Hume.
