CLAIR L. GOODRIDGE

 

               Former Andover/Alfred resident,

 

               LTC (Ret) Clair L. Goodridge (Jan. 12, 1940-Feb. 10, 2007) at Huntsville, AL.

 

               He was the son of Maurice and Ellie Pierce Goodridge. He is survived by his wife of 44 yrs., Julie Vance Goodridge; daughter, Dr. Debbie (John) Shepard and grandchildren Allie and Cason of Naples, FL; brother, Dr. Lyndon (Dorothy) Goodridge of Dover, NH and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Maj. Michael Goodridge; Daughter-in-law Jennifer; and grandsons, Mikey and Kyle; brother, Robert.

             

               After serving 22 yrs. in the US Army he worked 22 yrs. as a defense contractor at Redstone Arsenal. He graduated from Andover High School in 1957; Alfred University in 1963 with a B.A. in history and received a Regular Army Commission. He served with distinction in the US, Germany, Vietnam and Kuwait. He was instrumental in the TOW Missile Project.

 

               Clair's service awards include: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Nation Defense Service Medal.

               Clair was a leader at his church, a coach of youth teams and an avid golfer.

 

               Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. or Organization of donor’s choice.
