Mrs. Erwin Howden.

Rossburg – Mrs. Betty J. Howden of Rossburg, died Thursday Aug 30 1979 in her home.

 Born in Caneadea on July 4, 1927, she was a daughter of Arthur and Emma Griggs Burr, and was married to Erwin Howden who survives.

 Mrs. Howden was employed as elementary secretary for the Fillmore Central School and was also basketball cheer leader advisor.

 She was a member of the Methodist United Church and the Fillmore Wide Awake Club.

 Surviving besides her husband are a son, Marty Howden of Portageville; a daughter Mrs. Gary (Cindy) Largey of Rossburg; two grandsons and her mother of Caneadea; two brothers, Leroy Burr of Hilton and Robert Burr of North Chili; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Lucia) Wilcox of Fillmore and several nieces and nephews.

 Friends are being received at the Kopler Funeral Home 21 N Genesee St. Fillmore, today from 7 – 9 PM and Saturday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm where funeral services will be held Sunday Sept 2, 1979 at 2 pm.  The Rev Richard Webster pastor of Fillmore United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in East Koy Cemetery Town of Pike.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the basketball cheerleaders of Fillmore Central School.
