Mrs. George Hyde

Wellsville – Mrs. Mary L. Hyde of 176 Maple Ave., died Friday June 23, 1978 at the Jones Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

 Born Aug 4, 1883 in Hume, she was a daughter of William S. and Ella Ross Gillette Mills. She had been a resident of Wellsville since 1917.  On Dec 28, 1910 she married George M. Hyde, who died May 19, 1951.

 Mrs. Hyde was a member of the Christian Temple church of Wellsville; a charter member of the Wellsville Music Club and the orchestra; the Allegany County Garden Club; and she also taught violin lessons in Wellsville for many years.

 Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Betty) Burdick of Wellsville; two grandsons and six great grandchildren, and several nephews.

 Friends may call at the Mulholland Crowell Funeral Home Wellsville Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm where funeral services will be held Monday June 16, 1978 at 2 pm.  The Rev Peter Moon pastor of the Christian Temple Church will officiate.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Temple Church; the David A Howe Library or to the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
