Taylor (from personal files) email: ronglo_2@yahoo.com (Hattie Hoffman Hartman, below) William Henry Hartman Passes Away Thursday Morning at the Age of 67 Friendship - Jan. 27(1940)--William Hartman, aged 67, passed away at his home on Queen Anne Street, Friendship, at 11:15 a.m. Thursday morning. He was the son of John and Arletta Ashbaugh Hartman and was born October 31, 1872 at Freemont, New York. He had resided in this vicinity for forty years. On August 3, 1893 he was united in marriage with Miss Hattie Hoffman of Angelica. Besides the widow, Mrs. Hattie Hartman, the following survive: Mrs. Fred Dannheim, Allentown; Mrs. Loren Swarthout, Belvidere and DeForest Hartman, Bradford, PA; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. William Utter, Wellsville and Mrs. Edward Hoffman, Angelica; a brother, Clarence Hartman, Canaseraga. Funeral services will be held Sunday, a prayer service at the late home at 2:15 o'clock and a service at the St Andrew's Episcopal church at 2:30. Father Ray Weber of Cuba will conduct the services. Mrs Hattie Hartman Dies in Hospital Services Saturday
Mrs. Hattie H. Hartman, 80, Allentown, died about 6:50 am today in Jones Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Hartman was born in Angelica on Dec 22, 1875, the daughter of Christopher and Elizabeth Isaman Hoffman. She was a resident of this vicinity most of her life.
She was married Aug 1, 1893 to the Late William Hartman, who died in January 1940.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Irene Dannheim of Allentown, Mrs. Loren Swarthout of Scio; one son, Deforest Hartman of Scio; one brother, Edward Hoffman of Angelica, one sister, Mrs. Victor Wilkins of Angelica, and nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The body is at the Frederick C. Mulholland Funeral Home, where friends may call beginning tomorrow, and where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm. Rev. Elmer Krentz will conduct services.
Burial will be in “Until the Day Dawn” Cemetery, Angelica. ( Wellsville Daily Reporter – May 16, 1956)
