MYRTLE A. POMEROY
RUSHFORD—Myrtle A. Pomeroy of Rushford died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) in The Waters of Houghton Nursing Home after living a life that spanned nearly a century
Born July 31, 1904, in Alma, Mich., she was a daughter of James and Mary Isenhath Jones. On Oct. 13, 1925, in Rushford, she married Marvin H. Pomeroy, who predeceased her Dec. 5, 1980.
Mrs. Pomeroy lived in the Rushford area most of her life after moving to New York state with her parents in 1920.
Surviving are four sons, Sherwood K Pomeroy and Warren H. (Roberta) Pomeroy, both of Rushford, Marvin C. (Connie) Pomeroy of Geneva and James K Pomeroy of Caneadea, 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Vicki Foust.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Clyde E. Jones and Alfred W. Jones; and a sister, Leona C. Curds.
Family and friends gathered Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore, where funeral ser vices was held Tuesday (March 18, 2003) at 11 a.m. The Rev. Robert Childs of Rushford officiated. Burial was in White Cemetery; Rushford.
Memorials may be made to the Rushford Rescue Squad, the Salvation Army, The Waters of Houghton Nursing Home or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
