Gladys Sylor, Short Tract United Methodist Member

 

Short Tract – Gladys L. Sylor of County Road 15, died Monday March 11, 1996 in College Park Health Center, Houghton, after a long illness.

 

Born Nov 6, 1902 in the town of Granger, she was a daughter of Frank and May Phinney Smith.  She married Wayne C. Sylor Sr., who died in 1973.

 

Mrs. Sylor was a member of the Short Tract United Methodist Church and former president of its United Methodist women.  She was also a former member of the Short Tract Fire Department.

 

Surviving are two sons, Norbert (Wilma) Sylor of Fillmore and Adelbert (Lenore) Sylor of Warsaw, one daughter, Mrs. Dewey (Bernice) Perry of Ruchford 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a sister, Eva Schneider of Houghton.

 

She was predeceased by a son, Wayne C. Sylor Jr.

 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Thursday at Kopler Williams Funeral Home in Fillmore.  Funeral services will be held Friday Mar 15, 1996 at 2 pm in the Short Tract United Methodist Church where Pastor Donald Ferguson will officiate.  Burial will be in the Short Tract Cemetery.

 

Memorials if desired can be made to the Short Tact United Methodist Church or the Short Tract Fire Department.
