Mrs. Kenneth Sylor

 

Short Tract – Mrs. Miona L. Sylor of this community died Wednesday Feb 3, 1972 at her home following a long illness.

 

Born in the Town of Allen June 24, 1897, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bennett.  She married Kenneth Sylor, who survives.  Mrs. and Mrs. Sylor celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 30, 1971.

 

Mrs. Sylor was a member of the Short Tract United Methodist Church; Women’s Relief Corp; American Legion Auxiliary of Lester E. Nobel Post 1770, and the Ladies Aid Society, all of Short Tract.  She was a former town clerk for the Town of Allen and a 12 year member of the Allegany County Home Bureau, Town of Allen.

 

Surviving in addition to her husband, is a son, Alton Sylor of Fillmore; five daughters, Mrs. Della Mertens of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Norma Laxson of Tonawanda, Mrs. Theda Clark and Mrs. Vonda Bower, both of Fillmore and Mrs. Vesta Essler of Rochester, 23 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Friends are being received at the Kopler Funeral Home, 21 North Genesee St., Fillmore, today from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm  Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb 5, 1972 in the Short Tract United Methodist Church at 2 pm.  The Rev Irwin Reist, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Short Tract Cemetery, Town of Granger.
