ISAAC S. TAYLOR

ALMA – Funeral services were held today for Isaac S. Taylor, 94, of Alma, who died Friday (Oct. 1, 1982) at the Wellsville Nursing Home.

He was born in 1888 in Alma, the son of John and Alta Messler Taylor.

A lifelong resident of this area, he had been employed for many years in local oil fields. He was a life member of several fire organizations: Alma Volunteer Fire Department, Allegany County Volunteer Firemen’s Association and the Southwestern Volunteer Firemen’s Association.

In addition to this wife, the former Bessie Harrington, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Dorothy) McCoy of Atkins, Ark., Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Grossman of Hornell; two sons, Isaac G. Taylor of St. Louis, Mo., and Phillip A. Taylor of Allentown; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Alta Scott, Mrs. Blanche Lunn, both of Wellsville, and Mrs. Anah Terrette of Shinglehouse, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Wayne Taylor Jr. of Shinglehouse officiated at services today at the Embser Sons Funeral Home.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
