OBITUARY


Miss Mitty M. Willis

Miss Mitty M. Willis of 55
Washington St., Hornell, died last
night at Bethesda Hospital, North
Hornell, where she had been a
patient for nine weeks. she was
60 years old.
Born in Angelica, she was a
teacher for 39 nine years. She taught
in Angelica, Burns, Birdsall, Al-
mond and for 27 years, in South
Hornell, retiring in 1951. She
was a member of the Official
Board of Park Methodist Church.
Survivors include two brothers,
Col. Herbert E. Willis (ret) of
Clifton Forge, Va., and Martin B.
Willis of Wellsville; a sister, Mrs.
Henry Allen of Wellsville, and
several nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Crandall and
Crandall Funeral Home in Hornell
where funeral services will
be held at 11 a.m. Monday.
The Rev. Carlyle Smith, pastor of
Park Methodist Church, will of-
ficiate. Burial will be in Angelica
Cemetery.

Dies in Hornell After
Illness of Over a Year

Hornell - Miss Mitty M.
Willis of 55 Washington St., Hornell
died early yesterday morning
at Bethesda Hospital following an
illness of over a year. Prior to
the illness she taught school in
Hornell for 27 years.
Miss Willis was born in Angelica
on Feb. 6, 1895, the daughter of
the late Martin and Harriet
Shafer Willis. She was a member
of the Park Methodist Church of
Hornell.
Survivors include two brothers,
Col. Herbert E. Willis (ret) of
Clifton Forge, Va., and Martin B.
Willis of Wellsville; a sister, Mrs.
Henry Allen of Wellsville, and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 11 a.m. Monday at the Crandall
Funeral Home in Hornell
by the Rev. Lyle Smith.
Burial will be in Angelica Cemetery.
