On Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday, August 9th and 10th, descendants of Abner and Barbara Councilman Bacon, Ira and Naomi, Bennett Bacon, and Alvin and Lydia Spencer will gather in Genesee, Pa to celebrate the 117th
Bacon Spencer Reunion.
Saturday evening there will be a meet and greet bonfire at Chris Pendleton’s on Church Street in Genesee. Soft drinks and snacks will be provided. Also, anyone is invited to bring a snack dish to pass of their favorite recipe. You are also
welcome to bring a cooler of the beverage of your choice. This will be a time for casual conversation and a time to renew family bonds and get to know other relatives.
Please bring any old documents, correspondence, or photographs you may have. We may have equipment available to copy photographs and documents, so that you may retain the originals, if you wish. Also, come prepared to discuss any research
that you may have been involved in, no matter how small it may seems. Most of our records have been small projects that add up and look fairly impressive as a whole.
Sunday there will be the traditional Bacon Spencer Reunion picnic being held in the Genesee Park. There will be volumes of photos and genealogy records. There will also be few forms to fill out to update the historians so that they can keep
the records up to date, or you can log on to bacon-spencer.org and download the form and have it filed out ahead of time.
Commemorative Bacon Spencer Family Reunion glasses will be available for purchase, as a fund raiser for expenses incurred. Many personal resources of the elected officers and committee members are utilized and any financial backing that
anyone can provided will greatly assist them in bringing this Reunion to you in future years. Awards will be given for : The “Most Seasoned Female,” The “Most Seasoned Male,” The Youngest, The “Most Distant Voyager,” and The longest married couple, and plans will be made for the next
