Jack Thomas was born 9/14/1932 the son of Freeman Monroe Thomas and Hazel M. Coast Thomas.  He was raised "in the oilfields" at Vosburg, just a mile west of Allentown, NY.

Jack didn't make a lot of news, but, was a consistent competitor of the best and won his share of races.  He especially enjoyed racing the Layfield brothers.

from the Wellsville Daily Reporter - 6/26/1971.....

"Jack Thomas of Allentown, a well-known stock car driver in the area, died last night while participating in racing competition at Drum Raceway.

Thomas was seen slumping over as his car came out of a turn, and he sped the entire distance of the straightaway before going over an embankment into a ditch."
