Angelica Brick Station ca. 1918; Mott Photo, Copyright David A. Howe Public Library-Wellsville, NY

Original Wood Station at Angelica, NY; Mott Photograph; Copyright David A. Howe Library - Wellsville, NY

Photo postcard originally mailed from Angelica, NY by William Cook, station agent who (it is believed) is pictured in photo.  It was mailed to his father, Frank Cook in Hallton, Elk County, PA.  Postcard passed to sister of William, Phoebe Cook Amacher and in 1977 to their nephew, Theodore V. Cook of San Diego, CA, who now shares the photo with us.  The original card will be placed in the Collection of The Pittsburg Shawmut & Northern Historical Society at their location on fairgrounds at Angelica, NY.

On the back of card is written: "This is what is (left) of my station.  I lost all my per(sonal) effects.  Our children not very well at present.  Threatened Scarlet Fever.  Will 1/29/(19)12."

William Cook was listed on 1910 Census as "clerk, steam railroad"; In 1920 he located at Hornell, NY as "Station Agent, Depot"; In 1930 he was a lumber salesman at Elmira, NY, died at Elmira and is buried at Angelica, NY in "Until Days Dawn" Cemetery.

Former Angelica Station as it appears today.
