Ron, This is from Lynda Hawley-she sent me the old photo of Squire J. Bailey with all the ladies on the porch (Ladies Aid) as you will see, she identified a little girl in the with her arms folded
as Onalee Hawley, daughter of Prudence Esidene Phinney/Hawley; She writes: "The picture of Squire J. Bailey, (left) I believe to be 1908,for the little girl with her arms folded is Onalee Hawley ,dau.of
Esidene(Phinney)and Frank Hawley. On the back it says "from Onalee to Herbie and Wilber Hawley; my grandfather was Wilber. I pulled out some pictures of Onalee and it matched. Esidene would take the train to NY to visit; She died in 1910. Onalee died in
1919." |

"A fellow from Farmington sent me some family photos; His grandfather was George Lewis, Almond Supervisor. He says these are Allegany County Democratic Leaders in the early
1930s-
Left to right: Dr. Robert Lyman, Carl Marshall, Frank Acker, Dr. McCarthy, George Lewis
He identified the picture on the tree as FDR – but it didn’t scan very well."

Ron, This is the Bishopville Aid, at S.J.(Squire John ) Bailey's, July 11, 1913
That, of course is Squire John Bailey (seated-son of John Bailey & Amelia Carmen) I THINK the lady in rocking chair behind Squire (over his right shoulder) MIGHT be his wife, Martha "Mattie" Adelaide McIntosh-daughter of Hiram McIntosh & Jane Easterbrooks)--the
lady in last row- on porch-with the baby-is Grace Lee Bailey Sanford-daughter of Squire J. Bailey-and spouse of LaVerne C. Sanford (my g-gramp) and mother to Aunt Polly-Pauline Bailey Sanford , also a school teacher in Almond for many. many years!Pauline would have been 6 yrs old at this
date so I doubt that is her with her mother-(this child looks a bit younger) Maybe if this is posted, somebody might help identify all the rest!!!! Enjoy! Judy Guidara
