NAME: ALLEN, STEPHEN

 

BIRTH: Oct. 24, 1759 in Rhode Island

 

DEATH:  Unknown

 

BURIED:  Unknown

 

INFO:  Drafted on Oct. 20, 1776 in Rhode Island to serve with the Rhode Island State Militia.   Later joined and served with Connecticut State Militia.  While in the service he helped build Fort Banton and Fort Independence.  Later he helped bury the dead at Fort Griswald.  He was discharged on Mar. 16, 1778.  Total active time was 11 months and 8 days.  Information taken from pension papers.

 

 

 

NAME: BAKER, SETH

 

BIRTH: July 14, 1735 in Woodbury, Conn.

 

DEATH:  1822 in Andover, New York

 

BURIED:  Hillside Cemetery Andover, New York

 

INFO:  Enlisted, 1775, in the 7th Connecticut Regiment, 14th Company. Mustered out in winter of 1777. Served 1 year and 9 months. Enlisted as a Pvt. and got out as a Sgt. Taken from family notes, DAR records and pension papers.

 

 

 

NAME:  DIKE, NATHANIAL

 

BIRTH: 

 

DEATH:  1813

 

BURIED:  Dike Cemetery, Elm Valley

 

INFO:  Was a Revolutionary War vet and was under the staff of General Joseph Warren at Boston, Mass. and later on the staff of General George Washington. (History of Allegany Co. 1806-1879  pg. 343

 

 

 

 

NAME:  MEAD, ENOS

 

BIRTH:  June 3, 1761

 

DEATH:  Sept. 5,1838

 

BURIED:  Mead Cemetery, Greenwood Hill

 

INFO: Fought with the state of Conn. He was a corporal. Served 23mo. & 14days. All info came from Alfred State College Library in the Daphne Brownell genealogy papers of Andover and his wife’s pension papers dated May 23, 1846. 

 

 

 

NAME:  THORPE, AUGUSTUS (CAPT.)

 

BIRTH:  1756

 

DEATH: Oct. 14, 1835

 

BURIED:  Hillside Cemetery, Andover

 

INFO:  Fought with Conn., Mass., and N.Y. troops from 1778 to 1783.  Taken from pension files.

BURIED:  Leonard Cemetery, Elm Valley Road

INFO:    Was an Ensign in "D" Company, in the Battalion of Militia in the County of Genesee, Order of David Davis Esq.  Is a Major Commandant April 1805.  Unknown his length of stay in the Militia.


NAME:  WESTCOTT, ESICK

BURIED: Hillside Cemetery, Andover

INFO:  Was a Pvt. in the 18th Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division of Riflemen.  He served under Capt. H. Stevens and Capt. George K. Kirk.  Unknown  his length of stay in the militia.
