Edward Seaman POST #481, G.A.R.

Andover,  Allegany County – NY

(Charter Granted May 7, 1884)

Edward L. Seaman was born January 13th, 1843 in Groton, Tompkins County, New York, the son of John and Emeline Seaman.  At some point in time they moved to Andover, New York.  When the Civil War broke out Edward was 18 years of age and on Sept. 2nd, 1861 at Andover he enlisted to serve three years.  On Sept. 6th, 1861 he mustered into Co. K, 85th Regiment of the New York Volunteer Infantry as a Corporal.  Returned to ranks on unknown date.  On Jan. 1st, 1862 he was transferred to Co. H, of the 85th. On May 31st, 1862 he was captured in action at Seven Pines, VA. On June 15th, 1862 he was paroled.  On Nov. 1st, 1862 he was promoted to corporal.  April 20th, 1864 at Plymouth, N.C. he was captured in action and taken to Andersonville prison in GA.  On July 20th, 1864 he died of disease while a POW.  Stone # 3612 marks his grave there.

The following list  was taken from the Description Book of The Edward Seaman Records, Number 481 Grand Army of the Republic Record published by the U.S. Government. It shows that 142 men returned from the Call to Service from the Town of Andover. The remainder probably moved here after the war or lived in nearby Towns, but belonged to the Edward Seaman Post. Only 72 are listed as members of GAR in 1889.

Sanford, Henry W.  born in Groton,N.Y. Lives in Andover and is a lawyer. Joined the service on April 1861 as a Pvt. of Co.E 34th N.Y. Vol. Discharged  because of experation of service Nov. 1865 as a Cpt. of Co. G 2nd N.Y. Cav. Spent 56 months in service.  Joined the GAR  May 26, 1884.

 Green, George A.  born in Independence, N.Y. Lives in Andover and is Post Master.  Joined the service on Oct. 30, 1861 as a Pvt. of Co.C 85th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on July 21, 1862 as a Pvt. of same. Spent 9 months in service.  Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.  Discharged from GAR  Apr. 7, 1903.  Dismissed from GAR on Apr. 3, 1903.  Died on Feb. 17, 1905. 

 Green, Jesse C.  born in Hinsdale, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer. Joined the service on Sept. 2, 1861 as a Sgt. of Co.H 85th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service April 11, 1865 as a Sgt. of same. Spent 44 months in service. Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.

 Richardson, Charles H. . born in Gardner, Maine.  Lives in Andover and is a RR Agent. Joined the service on Aug. 27, 1862 as a Pvt. of Co.F 5th N.Y. Cav.  Discharged because of experation of service June 6, 1865 as a Pvt. of same.  Spent 34 months in service. Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.  Suspended from GAR on  Mar. 6, 1896.  Dropped from GAR on June 24, 1897.

 Dodge, Levi W.  born in New Boston, N.H. Lives in Andover and is a farmer. Joined the service on Aug. 9, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 130th N.Y. Vol. Discharged because of experation of service June 5, 1865 as a Pvt. of Co. E, 1st N.Y. Dragoons.  Spent 33 months in service.  Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.  Died on Feb. 7, 1893.

 Hardy, Roswin W.  born in Andover, N.Y. Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Aug. 9, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 130th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service June 30, 1865 as a Cpl.in Co.E, 1st N.Y. Dragoons.  Spent 35 months in service.  Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.  Died on Dec. 8, 1906.

 Baker, Seth S.  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover  and is a farmer.  Joined the service Aug. 1862 as a Pvt. in Co. K, 149th Pa. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on June 25, 1965 as a Cpl. of same. Spent 34 months in service. Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.

 Baker, Newell  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer. Joined the service Sept. 16, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.K, 50th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on June 25, 1865 as a Pvt.of same.  Spent 45 months in service. Was wounded by an axe.  Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.

 Chase, Eldon H.  born in Lynne, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service Aug. 4, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 130th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on June 30, 1865 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 1st N.Y. Dragoons.  Spent 35 months in service.Was wounded Jan. 30, 1863 at Deserted Farm, Va.  Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.  Died on April 24, 1909. 

 Crandall, Almond C.  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service Dec.14, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.K, 98th N.Y. Vol. as a musician.  Discharged because of experation of service on June 1864.  Spent  30 months in service.  Joined the GAR May 26, 1884

 Crandall, George W.  born in Brookfield, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer. Joined the service on Sept. 186? as a Pvt. in Co.F, 98th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged Nov. 26, 1863  of same due to heart desease. Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.  Suspended from GAR on June 1, 1893.    Reinstated on June 3, 1894.  Suspended from GAR on June 30, 1896 and reinstated on Jan. 15, 1898.  Died on Feb. 8, 1903.

 Carpenter, Elisha R.   born in Lodi, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 2, 1864 as Pvt. in Co. B, 58th N.Y. National Guard. Discharged because of experation of service on Dec. 2, 1864 as a Pvt. of same.  Spent 20 days in service. Joined GAR July 5, 1884.  Died on Oct. 26, 1909.

 Deming, W. John  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 19, 1864 as a Pvt. in Co.D, 6th Hvy Arty. Discharged because of General Orders on June 1865 as a Pvt. in same.  Spent 8 months in service.  Joined the GAR on May 26, 1884

 Fosbury, Stephen A.  born in Oxford, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Apr. 17, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.A, 23rd N.Y. Vol.  Discharged beacuse of  experation of service on July 1865 as a Pvt. in Co. E, 1st N.Y. Dragoons.  Spent 51 months in service.  Joined the GAR May 26, 1884.  Suspended from GAR on Mar. 6, 1896 and was reinstated on Dec. 19, 1896.   Died on Aug. 3, 1897.

 Wood, Nelson P.   born in Fairfield, N.Y.   Lives in Andover and is a painter.  Joined the service on Oct. 3, 1861 as a musician in 85th N.Y. Vol. band.  Discharged because of experation of service on Aug. 11, 1862 as same.  Spent 10 months in service.  Joined the GAR in May 26, 1884.  Died on June 5, 1899.

 Smith, Isaac  born in Jerusalem, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept 3, 1864 as a Pvt. in Co.H, 179th N.Y. Vol.  Discharge because of experation of service on June 8, 1865 as same.  Spent 9 months in service. Joined the GAR in May 26, 1884.  Dropped from GAR on Jan. 24, 1909.

 Howe, John  born in Irland.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Aug. 9, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 130th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on July 1865 as a Pvt. in Co. E, 1st N.Y. Dragoons.  Spent 35 months in service.  Joined the GAR in May 26, 1884.

 Remington, Delos D.  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Aug 12, 1862 as a Cpl. of Co.E, 130th N.Y. Vol. Discharged because of General Orders on Nov. 1865 as a Pvt. of Co.A, Veterans Reserve Corps.  Spent 39 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on May 26, 1884.

 Boyd, Thomas N.  born Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 19 1864 as a Pvt. in Co.F, 141st N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of General Orders on June 1865 as same.  Spent 9 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on May 26, 1884. 

 Davis, Charles F.  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Oct. 1, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.C, 85th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on Nov. 24, 1864 as same. Spent 37 months is service.  Joined the GAR on May 26, 1884.

 Angood, John W.  born in England.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.C, 6th N.Y. Cav.  Discharged because of experation of service on April 1865 as same. Spent 43 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on May 26, 1884.  Suspended from GAR on Dec. 31, 1892 and was reinstated on Mar. 7, 1896.

 Baker, Levi D.  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Aug. 9, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 130th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on July 16, 1865 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 1st N.Y. Dragoons. Spent 35 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on May 26, 1884.  Died on March 10, 1902.

 Cartwright, John C.  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Jan. 13, 1864 as a Pvt. in Co.L, 16th Hvy Arty.  Discharged because of General Orders on Sept. 27, 1865 as same.  Spent 21 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on May 36, 1884. Dropped from GAR on Jan. 21, 1909.  Died on Jan. 7, 1899.

 Barker, Timothy H.  born in Cayuga, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Aug. 25, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co. H, 144th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of General Orders on Sept. 9, 1865 as a Pvt. in 2nd Pa. Arty. Spent 37 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on May 26, 1884.  Died on Aug. 8, 1911.

 Wescott, George W.  born in Alfred, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a carpenter.  Joined the service on Aug. 13, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.H, 130th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of disabilities due to wounds on Aug. 12, 1863 as a Pvt. in Co.H, 1st N.Y. Dragoons.  Spent 12 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on May 26, 1884.  Suspended from GAR on dec. 30, 1905.

 Clark, Albert H.  born in Germany.  Lives in Andover and is a blacksmith.  Joined the service on Aug. 7, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 130th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of General Orders on June 29,1865 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 1st N.Y. Dragoons.  Spent 46 months in the service.  Walks with a cane.  Joined the GAR on June 7, 1884.

 Houghtaling, George H.  born in Otsego, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 15, 1864 as a Pvt in Co.D, 188th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of General Orders on May 20, 1865 as same.  Spent 8 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on June 7, 1884.  Suspended from GAR on June 17, 1893.  Died on April 25, 1896.

 Barrett, Patrick  born in Ireland.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on May 21, 1961 as a Pvt. in Co.E, 72nd N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of disabilities on Feb. 4, 1863 as same.  Spent 21 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on June 7, 1884.

 Perry, Homer D.  born in Milo, N.Y.   Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on May 21, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.C, 67th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on Dec. 8, 1865  as a Pvt. in Co.I, 1st N.Y.Arty.   Spent 55 months in the service.  Fracture of the left under jaw in Battle of Fair Oaks, Va.  Joined the GAR on May 26, 1884.

 Popple, Jason H.  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Aug. 6, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.A. 85th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of disabilities on June 27, 1865 as same.  Spent 46 months in the service.  Walks with a cane.  Joined the GAR on ?

 Emery, William W.  born in Sharin, Mass.  Lives in Andover and is a carpenter.  Joined the service on Sept. 8, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.F, 51st Mass. Vol.  Discharged on because of experation of service on July 27, 1863 as same.  Spent 10 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on June 7, 1884.  Suspended from GAR on June 17, 1893 and dropped June 24, 1894.

 Doran, Briney  born in Ireland.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on July

20, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.D, 190th Pa. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on July 29, 1864 as same.  Spent 36 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on June 7, 1884.  Suspended from GAR on June 14, 1909.

 Guinn, Thomas   Name is in the book and was suspended from GAR on June 17, 1893.

 Friar, William H.  born in Allegany, Pa.  Lives in Greenwood and is a farmer.  Joined the service on May 22 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.F, 19th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged  because of experation of service on June 2, 1863 as a Pvt. in Co.A, 3rd Arty.  Spent 24 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Mar. 20, 1885.  Dismissed from GAR on Feb. 20, 1895 due to transfer.

 Graves, J. A.  born in Hornellsville, N.Y.  Lives in Alfred and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 21, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.D, 86th N.Y.Vol. Discharged because of amputation of right leg on April 22, 1864 as a 1st Sgt. of the same.  Spent 31 months in the service.  Joined the GAR in ?.  Honorably discharged from GAR on Dec. 21, 1889.

 Smith, Henry S.  born in Scipes.  Lives in Andover and is a carpenter.  Joined the service on Sept. 30, 1864 as a Pvt. in Co.F, 144th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on June 6, 1865 as same.  Spent 9 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Dec. 11, 1885.  Died on July 12, 1893.

 Sheriff, William M.  born in Rochester.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 30, 1864 as a Pvt. in Co.C, 141st N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on June 8, 1865 as same.  Spent 9 months in the service. Joined the GAR on June 7, 1884.  Was honorably discharged from GAR on Feb. 2, 1889.

 Stratton, Uriah W.  born in Wayland, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a cheese maker.  Joined the service on Sept. 11, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.D, 85th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged  because of General Orders on May 6, 1862 as a Cpl. in Co.H, 51st N.Y. Vol.  Spent 29 months in the service and was wounded in the left hand and left leg at the battle of Petersburg Va. Joined GAR ?  Transferred out on ?.

 Catlin, William L.  born in Charleston, Pa.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service  on Sept. 11, 1864 as a Pvt. in Co.H, 16th N.Y. Cav.  Discharged because of General Orders on May 29, 1865 as same.  Spent 8 months in the service. Joined the GAR ?  Died on July 5, 1893.

 Mead, George W.   born in Leroy, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Oct. 22, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.H, 86th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of General Orders on Nov. 20, 1865 as same.  Spent 49 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Sept. 18, 1886.  Suspended from GAR on June 30, 1896 and dropped on July 14, 1909.  Wounded by gun shot at Gettysburg, Pa. July 3, 1864.

 Mourhess, Harrison  entered the service unknown, rank unknown, in Co.G, 13th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of close of war on 6/17/1865 as a Pvt. in Co. D, 14th N.Y. Vol. Spent 14 months in the service.  Transferred from Dexter Post # 336 on Dec. 1, 1887.  Dropped from rolls on Jan. 4, 1909.  Died in 1910.

 Bently, Lyman C.  born in Horseheads, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a mason, Joined the service on June 17, 1863 as a Pvt. in Co.D, 14th N.Y. Hvy. Arty.  Discharged because of General Orders on June 17, 1865 as same.  Spent 24 months in the service.  Transferred from Dexter Post # 336 on Dec. 1, 1887.  Suspended from GAR June 17, 1893.  Died on March 27, 1895. 

 Hayes, Charles H.  born in Hayes Mills, Md.  Lives in Andover and is a printer. Joined the service on July 5, 1861 as a Sgt. in Co. K, 14th Mass. Vol.  Discharged because of  experation of time on Sept. 20, 1865 as a Capt. in Co. I, 1st Mass. Vol.  Spent  50 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on July 21, 1888.  Honorably discharged from GAR on Feb. 18, 1889.

 Hall, Vernum G.   is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 19, 1864  in Co.I, 141 N.Y. Vols.  Discharged because of General Orders on June 8, 1865 as a Pvt. of same. Served 9 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on June 30, 1888.  Died on Nov. 26, 1901.

 Turner, Eli H.  Joined the service on Sept. 19, 1864 in Co. F, 141st N.Y. Vol.   Discharged because of General Orders on June 8, 1865 as a Pvt. of  Co. ?  of same.  Served 9 months in service. Joined GAR ?.

 Johnson, J.J.  born in Schenectady, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 25, 1863 as a Pvt. in Co. F, 14th N.Y. Hvy. Arty.  Discharged because of close of war on July 18, 1865 as same.  Served 22 months in the service.  Joined the GAR in 1885.  Honorably discharged from GAR on Feb. 2, 1889.

 Jones, William   born in England.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Nov. 7, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co. I 160th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of close of war on Nov.15, 1865 as same.  Served 36 months in the service.  Transferred from Dexter Post # 336.

 Wilcox, John W.  born in Wirt,  N.Y.   Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on May 15, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co. I, 85th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of close of war on Aug. 12, 1865 as a Pvt. in Co. G, 1st N.Y. Veteran Cav.  Served 51 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Feb. 15, 1890.

 Edwards, Eathan A.  born in Almond, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on July 20, 1863 as a Pvt. in Co. L, 1st N.Y. Cav.  Discharged because of General Orders on July 21, 1865 as same.  Served 24 months in service.  Joined the GAR on July 19, 1890.  Suspended from GAR June 30, 1896.  Dropped from GAR on June 24, 1897.

 Bullard, Elijah J.  born in Andover, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a laborer.  Joined the service on Aug. 21, 1863 as a Pvt. in Co. I, 76th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of wounds on May 12, 1865 as a Pvt. in Co.I, 10th Vol. Arty.  Served 22 months in service.  Joined the GAR on  Aug. 16, 1890.   Died on Nov. 10, 1905.

 Orvis, William R.   was a member of Co. K, 86th, N.Y. Vol. 

 Lacky, George W.  born in N.J.  Lives in Andover and is a laborer.  Joined the service on Nov. 13, 1863 as a Pvt in Co. A, 10th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of General Orders on Nov. 7, 1865 as same.  Spent 24 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Mya 21, 1892.

 Bassett, Frank M.  born in Independence, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a laborer.  Joined the service on Aug. 12, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co. E, 1st N.Y. Dragoons.  Discharged because of General orders on July 20, 1865 as same.  Served 35 months in service.  Joined the GAR on Jan. 21, 1893. 

 Herrick, George B.  born in Knoxville, Pa.  Lives in Andover and is a ?.  Joined the service on Aug. 22, 1862 as a 2nd Lt. in Co. H, 161st N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of disability on April 4, 1863 as same.  Spent 9 months in service.  Joined the GAR on Feb. 4, 1893.  Died on Oct. 20, 1902.

 Doyle, James  born in New York City, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a laborer.  Joined the service on May 25, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co. E, 1st N.Y. Vol.  Discharge because of General Orders on June 12, 1865 as Pvt. in ?.  Served 47 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on June 3, 1893.

 Travis, John A.  born in Hornellsville, N.Y.  Lives in Washington, D.C. and is a janitor.  Joined the service on Sept. 21, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.D, 86th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of loss of leg on Apr. 22, 1864 as Sgt. of same.  Served 31 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Dec. 1, 1894.

 Shields, Michael  born in Ireland.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on May 1861 as a Cpl. in Co. E, 72nd N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of wounds in 1863 as same.  Joined the GAR on Dec. 1, 1894.  Died on Oct. 26, 1909.

 Coleman, Henry C.  born in Germany.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 13, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.A, 85th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on Aug. 13, 1862 as same.  Served 36 months in service.  Joined the GAR on Feb. 13, 1897.  Died on Dec. 4, 1909.

 Mosher, John M.  born in N.J.  Lives in Andover and is a printer.  Joined the service on Sept. 2, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.H,  26th  ? Vol.  Discharged because of experation of service on Aug. 1863 as same.   Served 11 1/2 months in service.  Joined the GAR on Feb. 10, 1897.  Died on April 1908.

 Parshall, Robert R.    was in the 67th N.Y. Vol.  Was dropped from the GAR on Jan. 1, 1909.

 Shultz, William   born in N.Y.  Lives in  Andover and is a ?.  Joined the service on Aug. 23, 1864 as a Landsman on the U.S.S.  Ho??.  Discharged because of  experation of service on Aug. 23, 1865 as a Seaman on the same.   Spent 12 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Oct. 4, 1899.  Died on Aug. 27, 1901.

 Henderson, Thomas L.  born in N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Nov. 9, 1863 as a Pvt. in Co. L, 12, Ill. Cav.  Discharged because of General Orders on Feb. 10, 1866 as same.  Spent 27 months in service.  Joine the GAR on April 7, 1900.  Dismissed from GAR on June 10, 1891 and renistated on Jan. 18, 1892.  Discharged from roll on April 3, 1904.

 Picket, Sylvester D.  born in N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is retired.  Joined the service on Sept. 18, 1864  as a Pvt. in Co.G, 188th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of General Orders on July 18, 1865 as same.  Spent 10 months in service.  Joined the GAR on May 6, 1902.  Died on March 21, 1904.

 Crandall, Sidney   was in the 85th N.Y. Vol.  Nothing else.

 Burdick, Silas G.  born in N.Y.   Lives in Andover and is a teacher.  Joined the service on Aug. 21, 1861 as a Pvt. in Co.C, 85th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of  ? on June 9, 1865 as same.  Spent 46 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Dec. 5, 1903.  Discharged from GAR on Feb. 17, 1906.

 Van Wie, Lewis  born Germany.  Lives in Andover and is a engineer.  Joined the service on Sept. 5, 1863 as a Pvt. in Co.L, 14th Hvy. Arty.  Discharged because of ? on Aug. 25, 1865 as same.  Served 21 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Dec. 1, 1906.

 Richardson, Thomas  born in N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Nov. 2, 1862 as a Pvt. in Co.F, 109th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of close of war on Dec. 10, 1865 as same.  Joined the GAR on Nov. 12, 1912.

 Hudson, William H.  born Prattsburg, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on June 16, 1864 as a Pvt. in Co.D, 141st N.Y. Vol.  Discharged on May 29, 1865 as same.  Joined the GAR on Feb. 15, 1913.

 Mc Donough, William  born in Ireland.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Sept. 15, 1862 as a Pvt in Co. F, 165th N.Y. Vol.  Discharged because of close of war on Sept. 19, 1865 as same. Served 36 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on Oct. 29, 1913.

 Shelley, Charles A.  born in Addison, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a laborer.  Joined the service on Aug. 8, 1864 as a Pvt. in Co.B, 161st N.Y. Vol.  Discharged on June 27, 1865 as same.

 Stearns, Homer  born in N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on April 17, ?  as a Pvt. in 10th N.Y. Cav.  Discharged unknown date as same.

 Remington, Jerome P.  born in Independence N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a carpenter.  Joined the service on July 12, 1862 as Pvt. in Co.E, 1st N.Y Dragoons.  Discharge because close of war on July 18, 1865 as same.  Served 36 months in the service.  Joined the GAR on June 5, 1915.

 Witter, Chauncey,  born in Hornell, N.Y.  Lives in Andover and is a farmer.  Joined the service on Dec. 28, 1863 as a Pvt. in Co.G, 16th N.Y. Hvy. Arty.  Discharged because of close of war on Aug. 1865 as same.
