Virginia Jermain has provided the pictures in this gallery to share the family pictures from the start of the 1900 era.  The Jermain family roots were in the Short Tract area of the Town of Granger.  Some of the comments are hers.
1922 Cuba Lake - One of ladies, Mary Smith Gowdy just died a few years ago at age 102 1922 Cuba Lake; My Father, Bill Jermain wrote on back, "Discords on the Water" Scenes at the Oil Rig;  Virginia states: "My grandfather wrote on back of picture--
"Grapevine well #1, Vanostrand farm drilled in Oct 24, 1906.  Flowed natural without shot 10 bbls (barrels) a day."
Another Rig Scene Ladies visit to the Rig; My grandmother is in this one. This could be my father & my Uncle Varius Jermain.  My father (Bill) was born in 1900 and Uncle in 1895. Another inside view of the rig.
