Allentown, c.1885

Railroad, Depot at right.

Above, Allentown School class ca.1900, containing student - Kate Woodard, Mother of Dick Fitch of Bolivar who shares this remarkable photo with us.  The year is unknown for sure and no other names of students known.  Dick stated he does not know who Linda Woodard is, but, would think she was related to his Mother Kate.

The schoolhouse is partially visible in the left half background.  It is the Victorian-styled building built in 1884 during the oil boom days and sat in the spot that the 1904 brick building was situated.  The building was moved twice from 1904-1912 before being dismantled and the material used to build a barn on the Phillips Hill Road on Howe property.
