Picture taken beside Odd Fellows Hall. Alice Dayton Potter(wife of Ralph), Mrs Brandon & husband operated general store & hardware across from school.

L-R: Jesse Storms(Hackshaw), Mattie Cleveland, Stella McEnroe, Alta Cleveland, Vivian Barnes, Margaret Coleman, Laurence Butts, Francis Glendenning, Laurence Swarthout, Ralph Tyler & Donald R. Adams(then 12 on right). Behind is what became Mann Home in 1940-50's. The building at right later became Palmer's Store.

Teacher, Mrs. Stafford. Dorothy Boyd (dau Charles & May), Blanche Fitch, then 12. Posed in front of school. Donald R. Adams in front of Mrs. Stafford. Marie Myers, Hazel Myers, Frank Bacon by sign on door. Elton Swarthout front right.

(22) Allentown Youth

Wilton Butts, Ralph Hill, Ellis & Elton Swarthout(brothers), Cecile (their sister), Rosita Phillips. Rosita married Mr.Chambers & lived in Wellsville. She was killed in auto accident Christmas Day 1936. Others, Lillian Gowdy, Blanche Fitch & Marie Myers.

Picture taken w/Photographer facing Bolivar. Brandon's store in background across Phillips Hill Road. Later the store was known as Williams Store.

Principal was short for "Principal Teacher" & almost always male. Sometimes called Professor, he was oft-times close to age with his senior students.

Coach, Raymond Burdick. Rear,Left to Right-Clair Cleveland, Glenn Wentworth, Hartley Perry. Front-Elton Swarthout, Donald Adams & Harry Withey.

(32) 1902 Graduate - Allentown High School

Sylvia M. Fitch(later Mrs. Albert Matson), Hazel I Myers, Myrtle E. Woodard; seated, Martin F. Riley, Norton York(b.3/10/1884 d.1/1968), Prof. E.D.Walters, Ralph L. Potter(b.7/1/1886 d.1/10/1972), Flora Potter(m. Benjamin Joseph Smith, b.1-17-1881). Norton York, son of Charles York, was called Nork. He was named after his mother's maiden surname. Norton and York were oil producers.
