Picture Gallery Villa Belvidere -Clark Family Album During the
years 1910 - 1947, the Belvidere Villa & Farms was owned by Louise Squires Clark (Mrs. & Mrs. S. Hoxie Clark).
The pictures in this album are shared by their granddaughter, Mary L. (Lind) Rufe and several depict her mother, Mary Clark Lind. Thank you "Mimi" for
sharing these with us. Ron Taylor.

Although the photograph above of "The Villa" appears to be a common picture, it is a very special picture that has been shared by "Mimi" Rufe, granddaughter of
Mr. & Mrs. S. Hoxie Clark, former owners of the estate. This photo was officially sanctioned by the Clarks to the Kellogg Photo Studios (Cuba,NY & other Allegany County Towns) and is
shown here from the original which has been handed along to Mimi.

Above, left, a colored Oil Painting dated 1920 and a photo of perhaps the same time, of Elizabeth (Ann) and sister, Mary Clark. They were daughters of Mr. &
Mrs. S. Hoxie Clark.

Above photo is from Original on file at Allegany County Historian Office and was submitted by Greta Fish, daughter of former caretaker of the Estate. Greta states, " I was told this picture was taken about the time that the Clarks were preparing to go on their trip around
the world....this would have been in the 1930s. "Miss Betty (Elizabeth), Mrs. S. Hoxie Clark, Miss Mary and "Jigs".

"There were two ponies, this one in the picture and a small brown Shetland. They were called Esther & Pansy. When the Clark girls outgrew them, the ponies were "retired" and allowed to live anywhere on the farm where they were housed & Pastured in whatever
barn might be available and generally cared for by the farm crew. I remember them sometimes roaming free in front of the cow barn or horse barn once in a while. They became "pets" and were a familiar sight there.
The dog "Pal" was one of many & various dogs the Clarks owned. "Pal" was everywhere on the farms most every day but lived at the Villa. Everyone who lived or worked at the farms knew "Pal."
Both Pal and the ponies were there when we left the farms and I understand "Pal" lived a long life."
