What is the purpose of this Website?

There are two main missions. One is to preserve Clinton County genealogical and historical information and artifacts. The second is to make the above-mentioned information more accessible to the public.

How is this Website set up?

The home page is where you should start. It is best thought of as an table of contents. It lists all the areas of interest on the Website, and provides links to get to these areas. Once at one of these secondary pages, you may find links to other pages that were not listed on the home page, but they will concern the same topic as the secondary page.

What is the site map?

The site map is best thought of as a comprehensive index. It lists every page in the Website. Mmost readers will find it easier to navigate through the Website by using the home page and links, but the site map is good if you are looking for a specific page that you forgot to bookmark on your last visit.

What are ALHN and AHGP?

This Website, although independent, is affiliated with both the American Local History Network (ALHN) and the American History and Genealogy Project (AHGP). Both of these are excellent organizations that act as central points of entry to independent Websites with historical and/or genealogical content.

Are volunteers needed? What does this involve?

Volunteers are definitely needed! Help is particularly needed for data entry, but there are several opportunities available. Please visit our volunteer page for more details.

I know of a good Website that you don't have a link to. Can I submit it?

Yes! We are always looking for Websites that our readers may be interested in. Of course, we are particularly interested in sites with Clinton County information, but we also provide links to sites concerning the surrounding areas and New York in general.
