JANE GALE 

10 August 1826

wife of Nehemiah Gale

        In the name of God Amen. I Jane Gale of New Lebanon in the County of Columbia being in weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory considering the uncertainty of this mortal life blessed be Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following Viz: firstly I order all my just debts and funeral charges to be paid 2ndly I give and bequeath to my son Elijah B. Gale two dollars and fifty cents 3rdly I give to my son Nehemiah Gale two dollars and fifty cents 4thly I give to my son James Gale two dollars and fifty cents 5thly I give to my son Isaac Gale two dollars and fifty cents 6thly I give to my daughter Polly Homes two dollars and fifty cents and lastly I give to my four daughters Viz. Ann Cade, Damerores [hard to make out] Gifford, Betsy Evans, Sarah Fethers all my personal property to be equally divided between those four after what is paid as is mentioned in the above further more I do hereby appoint my sons
Nehemiah Gale and James Gale to be my executors of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made in witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 10th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.

Testament in the presence of us who at her request
