Whereas David Sutton of the town of New Paltz, County of Ulster, and State of New York, Son of John Sutton and Anna his wife, both deceased, and Margret Austen of the town of Bloominggrove, Daughter of Joshaway and Esther Austen of the Town of Hyde Park, County of Ulster and State of New York, Deceased, having said their intentions of Marriage with each other before two Monthly Meetings of the Religious Society of Friends held at the Clove and Cornwall in the State of New York and nothing appeared to obstruct their proposels of Marriage, Was allowed by the Meeting. These are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this twenty seventh day of the first Month in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven, they the said David Sutton and Margret Austen appeared in a public Meeting of said Society held at the Clove and the said David Sutton taking the said Margret Austen by the hand did on this solemn occasion declair that he took her to be his wife, promising through divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and a loving husband until seperated by death or words to that effect and then the said Margret Austen did in like manner declair that she took the said David Sutton to be her husband, promising to be unto him a loving and affectionate wife until seperated by Death, or words to that import, and they the said David and Margaret, she assuming the name of her husband, as a father confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents set there hands.
And we being present here subscribe our names as witnesses thereof

Israel Marshall of the town of Pleasant Valley County of Dutchess and State of New York son of Zacheus Marshall & Susannah his Wife the latter deceased and Ann Gifford daughter of John Gifford & Anna his Wife of the town of Stanford County and State aforesaid having said their intentions of marriage with each other before two monthly meetings of the religious society of Friends held at Stanford in the State of New York they having consent of Parents and nothing appearing to obstruct their proposal of Marriage was allowed by the Meeting. These are to certify that for the accomplishment of their intentions this 26th day of the 5th Month in the Year of our Lord 1825 they the said Israel Marshall and Ann Gifford appeared in a public Meeting of said Society held at Stanford and the said Israel Marshall taking the said Ann Gifford by the hand said on this solemn occasion that he took her to be his Wife, promising through Divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and loving husband or until separated by death or words to that affect and then the same Ann Gifford did in like manner declare that she took the said Israel Marshall to be her husband promising through Divine assistance to be unto him a faithful and loving wife until separated by death or words to that import and they the said Israel Marshall and Ann Gifford according to the custom of marriage assuming the name of her husband as a further confirmation there of did then and there to these Presents set their hands
And we being present have subscribed our names as witnesses thereof
