Old Miscellaneous Records Tax Act By Bob and Debbie |
| Wheras by an act of Generall Assembly
entiteled an act for better explaining and more Effectuall putting in
execution an act of Generall Assembly made in the third year of King
William and Queen Mary entiteled an act for defrayeing the publick and
nessessary charge throughout this province and for maintaining the poor
and preventing of Vagabonds made in the second year of Queen Anne.
By vertue of the same the supervizors have caused the assessors to rate & assesse the Freeholders inhabitants residants and sojorners for to defray the publick and nessessary Charge of the County of Dutchess to the year one thousand seven hundred and twenty Five and six on the eleventh day of march in the twelfth year of his majestys reign King George; and persuant thereunto have annexed the tax rolls amounting.
So that there is to pay for County charges and for Two Kings taxes hereafter named collectors & Tresurors sallery added in all £ 117. 11. 1. And the estemate for the whole County at eleven pence half penny per pound amounts to £ 117. 13. 8. First act you are ordred to pay each your proportion of an act of Generall Assembly for Raising and levying the quantity of five thousand three hundred and fifty ounces of plate For the uses therein mentioned and for striking and making bills of credit for that value Ehereof Dutchess County is to pay forty ounces teen penny waight yearely and every Year dureing the said three years for which act your proportion for each Ward is as Volloweth VZ the North Ward is to pay to Mr. Abraham De Pyster Jun. Tresuror at or Before the first day of May now next insueing in the year 1726 the summ of.
The Tresurors sallery included this is ye last payment of said act as also upon that act For raising and levying the sum of six thousands six hundred and thrity pounds for the Suplying the deficiences of his Majestys reveniue and for the several uses and purposes Therein mentioned and for making of bills of credit to be issued for that value whereof Dutchess County is to pay and raise and collect the sume of forty ine pound five shilling Yearly and every year dureing the said four years and over and above fiteen in the pound For collector & tresurer sallery as pr ye act appear for which act each wards proportion Is as followeth.
The Tresurors sallery included this is ye second payment on said act you are likewise Ordred to pay to ye County Tresuror for the nessessary charge of the County of Dutchess
The said sum to be paid to ye County Tresuror at or before the first day of May now Next insueing his sallery being therein included and then the collectors is to reserve Ye nine pence in every pound of the mony which is then is his hands; You are hereby Required and Commanded to collect of and from all and every person such sume of Summes of mony as you shall find every one charged within the annexed tax list of Estemate amounting for the whole County one hundred & seventeen pound thriteen Shillings & eight pence and if any person of persons deny refuse neglect or delay to Pay unto you such sum or summes of mony as aforesaid then you are impowered to Distraint and levy the sum on his or their goods and chattels and to dispose of the Uttmost peril given under our hands & seals in Dutchess County at Pocgkeepsink This twenty first day of March in the twelfth year of his Majestys reign King George Of Great Brittin France & Irland King Defender of ye faith &c. Ano 1725/6. |
