I am trying to locate information on the father of George Washington CRANDALL born 19 January, 1815 in Pompey, Onondaga Co. NY and later moved with his family to Wales, Erie Co. NY. He is listed as Noah CRANDALL and married to either a Sarah COATES (in 1813) or to a Mary WAKELEY. The information I have indicates Noah was born either in 1796 to a Chester CRANDALL and a Ms. DUNLOP; or 1774 (Dutchess Co., NY) to Jeremiah CRANDALL and Freelove KEENEY CRANDALL.

Since I live in Indiana I have no access to Erie county and Buffalo records. I would be willing to help someone if they need help with material from Indiana. My question concerns the DEVENING family which lived in Buffalo during 1840's and maybe into 1870. The original patriarch was Daniel DEVENING, Sr. and son, Daniel DEVENING, Jr. I have found both of them in the 1840 census records. Daniel, Jr. is in the 1850 census records with his wife and family. I have also found Daniel, Jr. in old city directories. He was doctor, I think a dentist rather than medical. His son, William, served in the Civil War. I am particularly interested in know if either Daniel, Sr. or Daniel, Jr. were naturalized. Such information would be helpful in connecting them with the DEVENING family in Indiana. Thank you for you help. I will be happy to help someone from my end.
