I am looking for information on any DIETMEIER/DIETMEYER/ DITMEYER with Erie County connections. Fidel DIETMEIER (wife Sabina KRUMHOLZ) settled near Williamsville in 1831. In 1842, his brother Philipp DIETMEYER (wife Julianna HERBERGER) joined him. They came from Sasbach, Baden (near the city of Achern), Germany. By 1855, both Philipp and Fidel had moved to Lake Co., IL. Over 100 other Dietmeiers and DIETMEIER descendants also emigrated. Some of the other surnames I am interested include: SCHLOSSER, DECKER, ERHARD, OTT, KETTERER, WITTENAUER, BURST, and many others. I have no doubt that some of the related families also made there way to Erie County, but I do not know if they remained there or not. I have considerable information from Sasbach (including an Ortssippenbuch, emigration indexes, histories, etc.), so I will gladly look up anything regarding families which originated in Sasbach or the area around Sasbach. I am interested in hearing from anyone researching families from this area in Baden.
