- BAKER, HOAG,
WASHBURN posted by Tanis
Diedrichs on Wednesday, October 8, 1997
- Elizabeth Power/s BAKER was born c1813, Buffalo, NY. She
married Ebenezer Sumner WASHBURN (date unknown). Family tradition
is that her father was killed in ''the Buffalo Massacre."
He was a baker by trade or profession, and his body was identified
because he still had bread dough clinging to his hands. He had
been kneading dough when the attack came. This may have been
the attack on Buffalo by British and Indians during War of 1812.
Her mother said to be HOAG which may be a different spelling
than the original name. I need help with the BAKER and HOAG lines.
