- I'm trying to track down a particular ancestor of mine. DEPEW/DEPUE,
first name unknown. Said to have been from Black Rock, NY. Said
to have been killed by Indians, probably between 1812 and 1814.
Had at least one son, named Isiah G. DEPEW/DEPUE. Had perhaps
another son, or else a brother. I realize this is a bit vague,
but we're trying to find this particular man out of the many
with that name. I've been wondering if perhaps he was killed
in the British/Indian raid on Black Rock/Buffalo in the war of
1812. Family stories certainly support this as the locale of
the incident.

oldest daughter and son after his parents, so I am looking for
John and Mary BOON (William's second son and daughter were named

record, William said his father was born in MA. Family lore says
that the family moved (to Canada?) and William lost track of
them -- sometime around 1850 or later. We also think William's
father was a minister -- maybe Baptist, and that William had
a sister named Mary.
