Wedding Bells:
+ DE BROCK - GREENE - Gladys Pearl GREENE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph GREENE of Farmington, and Edward DE BROCK, son of Mrs. Emily DE BROCK of Shortsville, were united in marriage by Rev. J. E. NAPLER of Shortsville, Monday morning. The bride wore a gown of royal blue silk crepe with accessories to match and carried a shower bouquet of yellow rosebuds nad pink nad orchid sweet peas. She was attended by her sister, Miss Charlotte GREENE, who also wore blue silk crepe. The groom was attended by his brother, Vincent DE BROCK, of Manchester. After the ceremony a wedding luncheon was served at the home of the bride's parents under the direction of Mrs. Ray MC LEOD of Waynesport. Guests were present from Mineola, L.I., Macedon, Shortsville, Manchester and Farmington. After a motor trip to Albany, New York City and Mineola, Mr. and Mrs. DE BROCK will reside on the groom's farm in the eastern part of Farmington. The bride attended Macedon High School and is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy. The groom received his education at the Shortsville High School. A pre-nuptial event was a variety shower given by the bride's sisters, Mrs. Lloyd WELLS, Misses Florence and Charlotte GREENE. Mrs. Earl CRAIG of Shortsville will entertain in honor of the bride upon her return.
+ SMITH - BUSH - At the Methodist parsonage in North Main street, Saturday evening, took place the marriage of Miss Iona A. BUSH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. BUSH of Center street, to Frederick G. SMITH of South Main street. The Rev. S. G. HOUGHTON performed the ceremony. There were no attendants. Mr. and Mrs. SMITH will live in Canandaigua. He is a pressman in the enameling plant of the Lisk Manufacturing Company.

+ LINCOLN - Mrs. Blanche Wadleigh LINCOLN. 62, wife of the Rev. Howard A. LINCOLN of East Bloomfield, recently of Canandaigua, died Saturday morning in the Canandaigua Health Home after a long illness. Mr. and Mrs. LINCOLN came to Canandaigua from Needham, Mass., in September 1931, as host and hostess at the Granger Homestead where they served for a years. The moved last Fall to East Bloomfield, where they had purchased a home. Mrs. LINCOLN was born in Newton, Mass, and has spent her entire life in New England until her removal here. Besides her husband, she leaves one brother, William L. WADLEIGH of Caldwell, NJ. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Congregational chapel, the Rev. Charles N. ST. JOHN, pastor, officiating. The remains were taken to Mt. Hope crematory, Rochester.
+ PADELFORD - Funeral services for Mrs. A. H. (Clementine) PADELFORD, held at the Kennedy mortuary rooms in Bristol street, Saturday afternoon, were largely attended. Mrs. PADELFORD was the first president of Canandaigua Auxiliary, American Legion, and was a past state and district officer. The service was conducted by Rev. Herbert L. GAYLORD, rector of St. John's church. Interment was made at Woodlawn cemetery, the service at the grave being in charge of members of the Legion Auxiliary. Bearers were Thomas D. KENNEDY, T. Harland EVANS, Edward R. BURMEISTER, Leo A. BOYLE, Thomas L. SMITH and Joseph P. HAMM.
+ KAVENY - Funeral services for Joseph M. KAVENY, who died Tuesday, at his home in South Pearl street, were held from St. Mary's church, Thursday morning. Interment was made in Calvary cemetery. Mr. KAVENY was born at the KAVENY homestead on the Cooley road and had spent his entire life in Canandaigua. He had been ill for several months with heart trouble. Besides his wife, he leaves two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. M. G. COLLINS, Mrs. Helen K. FLANNIGAN and William KAVENY of Canandaigua, and Thomas KAVENY of Pittsburgh.
+ MELVILLE - Miss Jane A. MELVILLE died at her home in South Main street, (aged abt. 67y) Friday afternoon following a long illness. She leaves three brothers and three sisters, William S. MELVILLE of Olympia, Wash.; James H. MELVILLE of Newark, NJ, Thomas E. MELVILLE, Mrs. Mary KLESS, Mrs. Edward SICK and Miss Catherine MELVILLE of Canandaigua; also a niece and eight nephews. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon form the home, the Rev. H. L. GAYLORD of St. John's church, officiating. Interment was made in Woodlawn cemetery.
+ BATEMAN - Word has been received here of the death of Miss Theoda Althea BATEMAN, (aged about 35y), daughter of Mrs. Addie M. BATEMAN of Rochester, formerly of Canandaigua. Funeral services were held from the family home Thursday, and interment was made in Riverside cemetery, Rochester. Besides her mother, Miss BATEMAN leaves a sister and brother, Mrs. Margretta BANTRELL and Frank J. BATEMAN, of Rochester.
+ SMITH - Ezra G. SMITH, 70, who was for a number of years engaged in the mercantile and produce business in Manchester, died in St. Petersburg, Fla., Saturday evening. The funeral will be held in the First Baptist church, Manchester, this afternoon at 2 o'clock. He leaves his widow (Elizabeth); one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude BENNETT of Manchester, and one granddaughter, Jane BENNETT.
+ ROMESSER - Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Nellie) ROMESSER, aged 53 years, who died at her home in Hopewell, Sunday, were held from St. Mary's church, Wednesday morning. Interment was made in Calvary cemetery. Mrs. ROMESSER leaves her husband, a daughter, Miss Mary ROSMESSER of Hopewell and a sister, Sister Hilarion, of Dublin.
+ NEENAN - The death of Mrs. Mary Gleason NEENAN, aged 80 years, widow of Dennis NEENAN of East Bloomfield, too place Monday. She is survived by a son, Capt. Robert W. NEENAN and a sister, Mrs. Margaret CONDON of East Bloomfield. Funeral services were held from St. Bridget's church in East Bloomfield, Thursday morning.
+ HEIT - Richard D. HEIT, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Max HEIT, Buffalo street, died at Memorial hospital, Sunday, aged 4 days. Besides his parents, he leaves two brothers, Edward and Joseph HEIT. Interment was made in Rochester, Monday.

WESTFALL - WALTERS - Miss Lillian Anna WALTERS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George F. WALTERS of Clifton Springs and Leon A. WESTFALL, son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton WESTFALL of Phelps, were united in marriage at St. Mark's church, Newark, Thursday evening. The Rev. Charles W. WALKER, rector of the church, performed the ceremony in the presence of the immediate families. Mr. and Mrs. Martin H. KELLY of Clifton Springs were the attendants. After a motor trip through the Adirondacks, Mr. and Mrs. WESTFALL will live in Newark.
FULLER - THOMPSON - The marriage of Miss Helen THOMPSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. THOMPSON of Southern Pines, S.C. and Canandaigua, and William FULLER of New York took place at Southern Pines, Thursday morning at 11 o'clock. After a trip to Virginia Beach, Mr. and Mrs. FULLER will come to Canandaigua for a week's visit with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George T. THOMPSON and other relatives.

SMITH - The death of Hugh M. SMITH, aged 73 years, took place at his home in Gibson street, Sunday, following a long illness. He had been a mason and contractor for 45 years. He leaves two daughters and four sons, Mrs. Floyd RAYBURN of Holcomb; Miss Helene SMITH; Hugh E., Raymond W. and George A. SMITH, of Canandaigua and J. Earl SMITH of Fairport; also three sisters, Mrs. Anna CONHEADY and Mrs. George MEEK of Rochester and Mrs. E. C. COLLINS of this city, and a brother, Frank J. SMITH of Canandaigua. Funeral services were held from St. Mary's church, Wednesday morning and interment was made in Calvary cemetery.
FLETCHER - Orestes J. FLETCHER, aged 70 years, of Wood street, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leon TURNER, of Gorham, Monday night, following a long illness. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Izora Pool FLETCHER; a son and three daughters, Harold L. FLETCHER and Mrs. Leon PACKARD of Canandaigua, Mrs. Leon TURNER of Gorham and Mrs. Gertrude SHAY of coldwater; two brothers, Everett FLETCHER of Rochester and J. Cooley FLETCHER of Holcomb; also 18 grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Turner home, Thursday afternoon, Rev. Charles N. ST. JOHN officiating. Interment was made in Woodlawn cemetery.
HERRINGTON - Funeral services for Will HERRINGTON, who died at his home in West Gibson street, Friday, were held Monday afternoon. Rev. Hardy LUMB of the Presbyterian church officiating. Mr. HERRINGTON was born in Canandaigua, January 18, 1860, the son of Thomas H. and Jane Maltman HERRINGTON, and had spent his entire life here. He leaves his wife; a son and daughter, Howard HERRINGTON of Geneva and Mrs. E. Thurston WALDORF of Canandaigua; a sister, Mrs. L. G. LEVY of this city and three grandchildren.
TOLES - Mrs. Emma TOLES, 85, died Sunday in Canandaigua Health Home. She leaves one brother, George A. BUTLER of Herbert, Ill., and several nieces and nephews, among whom are Mrs. J. J. LINDNER and Charles S. DARROW of this city. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, from the home of Mrs. LINDNER in Chapin street, the Rev. Hardy LUMB, Presbyterian pastor, officiating. Interment was made in South Edmeston, Otsego county.

+ WEBSTER Family Reunion - The annual reunion of the WEBSTER family was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank BUMPUS, Tuesday, with 25 members and guests in attendance. A picnic dinner was served. Those from out of town included John WEBSTER of Burlington, VT, Henry WEBSTER and family of Gloversville, Mrs. E. B. WRIGHT and son, Donald, of Buffalo, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. DONOVAN and daughter, Allyn Jean of Batavia. John remained a few days' visit with his mother, Mrs. Harriet A. WEBSTER and family, and left Thursday with Henry and his family, who has been spending a few days with Mrs. Henry WEBSTER'S relatives in Rochester.
+ HICKEY Family Reunion - The annual reunion of the HICKEY family was held at Powder Mills Park, July 16th, with about 30 members present. Officers elected for the ensuing years are: R. F. HICKEY, president; Mrs. B. F. TISCHER, treasurer; W. J. ROYCE, secretary.

+ Wedding Bells - THOMPSON-REIMUND - Announcements have been received of the marriage of Miss Freda REIMUND, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl REIMUND of Meadville, Pa., and Williams Stewart THOMPSON of Pittsburgh, formerly of Canandaigua, son of the late John S. THOMPSON and Mrs. John S. THOMPSON of Perry Place. The ceremony was performed on Thursday, February 15th, at the home of the bride's parents by the Rev. Dr. Phillip KRAUS and the Rev. Ludweg MESSNER. The attendants were Miss Clara M. THOMPSON of Canandaigua, sister of the groom and Joseph L. MOONEY of Pittsburgh. Following the wedding dinner and reception, Mr. and Mrs. THOMPSON left for New York where the sailed for Bermuda on Saturday. After March 15th, they will be home at the Lawrence Apartments on the Terrace, Meadville.
+ TYLER - The death of Hanson B. TYLER, aged 61, took place at his home in Gibson street, Wednesday, after a week's illness. He as born at Haymarket, Va., and had been a resident of this city for 27 years and during most of that time had been superintendent of the enameling plant of the Lisk Manufacturing Co. For 25 years he had been a member of the vestry of St. John's Episcopal church and ws serving as senior warden at the time of his death. Mr. TYLER is survived by his widow (Virginia); two sons, H. Boyden TYLER of Corning and John TYLER of Canandaigua, and two daughters, Miss Kate TYLER of this city and Mrs. Charles R. MELLON of Geneva. Funeral services will be held from St. John's church, this afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Herbert L. GAYLORD officiating. Interment will be made in Woodlawn cemetery.
+ ADAMS - The death of John William ADAMS, aged 76 years, formerly of Hopewell, took place at his home in Lewiston Heights, Sunday. Mr. ADAMS was born in Madison, Wis., February 19, 1858 and came to Hopewell to live as a boy. He later lived in Avon and for many years had been engaged in the hardware business in Niagara Falls. In 1901 he ws married to Miss Arzie S. SACKETT of Canandaigua. Besides his wife, he leaves one brother, A. H. ADAMS of this city; and several nieces and nephews, among them, Mrs. George ARMITAGE and Mrs. Caroline A. PUSEY of this city; Mrs. Charles SCHUFELT of Phelps and Mrs. Ray BIRD of Port Gibson. Funeral services were held from home Tuesday afternoon. Brief services were held in Woodlawn chapel here Wednesday, followed by interment in Woodlawn cemetery. Rev. John H. WILLIS officiated.
+ BRAND - Mildred Alice BRAND, 7 week old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil BRAND, Coy street, died at Memorial hospital, Monday morning after a short illness. Besides her parents, she leaves two brothers, Richard and Cecil BRAND of this city and her grandmother, (cut off)

VETERAN
BORN A SLAVE DIES AGED 91 YEARS
Henry F. Thomas - Last Civil War Survivor Of
Canandaigua
Canandaigua, Mar. 14 - Henry F. THOMAS, 91, last
surviving veteran of the Civil War in this city, died at his home in
Saltonstall Street today. He was born a slave on a Louisiana plantation
Dec. 23, 1843.
Mr. THOMAS frequently had told stories of his
early plantation life among 900 other Negro slaves. Although given his freedom
by proclamation in 1862, he remained with his master until 1863, when he
enlisted in the Ninth Louisiana Colored Infantry under General
BANKS and served throughout the war. He was mustered out of service
in the Shenandoah Valley in October, 1865, after
having participated in many of the most important battles of the war. For
many months he was a member of SHERIDAN's army.
At the close of the war Mr. THOMAS accompanied
Lieut. Fred COSSUM to Auburn, where he first worked
as a painter, and later as a farmhand. In the winter he attended school.
In 1871 he moved from Auburn to East Rush to work in a mill and in 1875
went to work for Joseph STULL of Rochester at a
farm in West Bloomfield. A year later he moved to Naples, where he was
employed as farm hand by Hollis J. TYLER and later
by F. W. BEERS.
In 1886 Mr. THOMAS came to Canandaigua and worked
as a porter for Henry DRAKE at the Webster Hotel in
South Main Street. Two years later he became a porter at Canandaigua Hotel
and in 1903 was engaged by the new Rochester & Eastern Interurban
Trolley Company as porter at the local waiting room, where he was employed until
the road was abandoned.
Mr. THOMAS was the last member of A. M. Murray
Post, GAR, and had served in all its offices. He was married in 1884, but his
wife died many years ago. He is survived by a daughter, Miss
Cora THOMAS, and a son, John THOMAS, both
of Canandaigua.
Funeral services will be conducted by Canandaigua American Legion Post in
the Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, with burial in Woodlawn
Cemetery.
DEATH - MRS. HELEN J.
BUTLER
Canandaigua, Mar. 14 - Mrs. Helen Jeanette BUTLER,
76, widow of James H. BUTLER of Scottsville,
died in the home of her son, Floyd D. BUTLER in
this city today. She was born in Virginia Mar. 13, 1858, a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. David SMITH. Since the death of her husband she had made
her home in Canandaigua. Besides the son, she is survived by three
grandchildren, Jack, Robert and Elinor BUTLER of
this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Martin PRICE of
Scottsville and Mrs. Eunice CHAPIN of Rochester.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. with burial in Scottsville.
DEATH - ALBERT E. SHUFELT
Canandaigua, Mar. 14 - Albert Edward SHUFELT, 70,
former New York City newspaper man, died today at the home of Mrs.
Laura R. WILKIE in West Gibson Street.
He is survived by a brother, Linton P. SHUFELT of
South Walpole, Mass., and a sister, Mrs. Frank J. MOORE
of Braintree, Mass. Funeral services will be in mortuary rooms in North
Street Friday at 2 p.m. with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
DEATH - ROBERT ELLIOTT
Clifton Springs, Mar. 14 - Robert ELLIOTT, 82, died
in his home here yesterday after a brief illness. He was born in Ireland,
coming to this country when a boy. He is survived by his widow; four daughters, Mrs.
George McNAIR and Mrs. Orio DABWIN of
East Rochester, Mrs. John GIBSON of Nunda and Mrs.
Albert SICKLES of Berkely, Mich.; two sons, William
of Rochester and Robert of this village. Funeral services will be
Friday at 1 p.m. with burial in Mount Morris.
DEATH - KETCHUM - Entered into rest at her home, 403 Rosewood Terrace, Wednesday, Mar. 14, 1934, Minnie A. KETCHUM, widow of John C. KETCHUM. Survived by one daughter, Mrs. Wm. J. WRIGHT of Rochester; one son, Arthur J. KETCHUM, of Hampton, Virginia; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services at Nye's Funeral Home, 512 Meigs Street, Friday afternoon at 2:30. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Canandaigua papers please copy.

+Letters of administration were issued by Surrogate Harry I. DUNTON to George R. ELLIS of Canandaigua, upon the estate of Ina M. ELLIS, late of Canandaigua, who died in New York City, February 27. Personal property is listed at $2,000 and real estate at $3,000. the heirs mentioned in the petition are George R. ELLIS and Herbert J. ELLIS, brothers, of Canandaigua, Arthur C. ELLIS, another brother of Peking, China and Ada E. ELLIS, a sister of Canandaigua.
+ Letters of administration were issued by Surrogate DUNTON upon the estate of William GOODMAN, who died in the town of Phelps, January 24. Personal property is listed at $3,500 with real estate in the same amount. The heirs listed are Lewis C. GOODMAN, a son, and Anna M. COSTON, a daughter, both of Phelps.

Dist. Att'y Pushes Drive Against County's Illicit Liquor Trade - District Attorney Nathan D. LAPHAM continues is relentless drive for the suppression of the illegal trade in intoxicants in Ontario County for which appropriation of $500 was recently made by the Board of Supervisors. Under his direction, Sheriff Ernest W. KERSKIE and Under sheriff Walter ELLING apprehended four alleged violators, Tuesday night, two in the town of Victor, one in South Bristol and one in Farmington. All were immediately arraigned in local courts.
Antonio PATAMISE, 37 and Ollie PIZZIMINTI, 40 of Victor were arrested, charged with selling liquor without a license. PATAMISE, known as "Scarface", pleaded guilty before Justice Archie CUYKENDALL of Victor and was given the maximum sentence of a $200 fine and 6 months in the county jail. PIZZIMINTI, brother in law to PATAMISE, who had been acting as his bartender, also pleaded guilty and was fined $100. A sentence of 6 months in jail was suspended during good behavior. Chief of Police, William DELONG of Victor assisted in making the arrests. Justice CUYKENDALL gave gave consideration to previous activities of PATAMISE in imposing a maximum sentence.
In Farmington, Emmett RYAN, 42, was arrested and arraigned before Justice R. Wayne POWER. RYAN changed a plea of not guilty to guilty and was given a sentence of 6 months in jail in addition to a fine of $50. the jail sentence was suspended during good behavior.
Clinton N. HOLCOMB, 65, of South Bristol, also charged with selling alcoholic beverages without having obtained the necessary license, pleaded not guilty when brought before Justice Otto F. HERZBERG and asked for a trial by jury. The case was set down for January 3, 1935 and bail fixes at $200.
Two arrests previously made on the same charge were of Paul YUZZO and John SANDMAN, both of the town of Canandaigua. Each was fined $100 and was given a 6 month's sentence, which was suspended during good behavior.
District Attorney LAPHAM has said that he is determined to put an end to illicit liquor selling in the county, both as a protection to the public from the distribution of inferior and adulterated beverages and also in justice to legitimate dealers who are complying with the requirements of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. While predicting that other arrests will be made, he declined, very properly, to give any information regarding his plans for continuing the clean-up drive.

+ PRESSLER - HILDUM - The marriage of Miss Eloise Lorraine HILDUM, daughter of Mrs. Verna HILDRUM of Atwater Place and Claude C. PRESSLER, son of Mrs. Ora PRESSLER, took place Wednesday, noon in the home of Mrs. PRESSLER in Naples. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. C. HOUSE, pastor of the Naples Methodist church. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Harold HILDUM, of this city, wore a gown of white organdy with matching accessories and carried a bouquet of white flowers. Miss Theresea TOOLEY of Naples, as bridesmaid, wore pink chiffon with matching accessories and carried a pink bouquet. Delmar DRAKE of Naples was best man. Following a brief trip, Mr. and Mrs. PRESSLER will make their home in Naples. Both attend Naples High school.

MC MAHON - The death of John L. MC MAHON, aged 35, of the East Lake road, took place at Memorial hospital, Tuesday night. He was born in Victor. He leaves a son, Richard MC MAHON of Penn Yan; his father, William MC MAHON of Canandaigua; three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Alice STANTON of Rochester, Mrs. WIlliam MONAGHAN of Washington, Mrs. Ida WITTER and William MC MAHON of Canandaigua. The funeral will take place this Friday morning at 8:30 from the home of his father, west of the city and at 9:30 from St. Mary's church. Interment will be made in the Calvary cemetery.
LANE - Funeral services for Gerald Raymond LANE, 10 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren A. LANE, who died Friday, were held from the home in Pleasant street, Monday afternoon. The Rev. John H. WILLIS officiated and interment was made at Woodlawn cemetery. Besides his parents, he leaves three sisters and one brother, Misses Elizabeth, Margaret and Charlotte LANE and John LANE, and his grandfather, John FOLTZ, all of Canandaigua; also his grandmother, Mrs. Isabel GLODE of Worcester, Mass.
MILES - Funeral services for Bert N. MILES, aged 49, who died suddenly, Monday, were held from the home in Dailey avenue, Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Herbert L. GAYLORD officiated and interment was made in Woodlawn cemetery. Besides his wife, Mrs. Eugenia B. RELFSTECK MILES, he leaves three daughters, Dorothy, Jean and Patricia MILES of this city; and three sisters, Mrs. Clinton HADSELL and Mrs. Louis SLACK of Middlesex, and Mrs. Joseph LA COMBE of Waterloo.
PATTERSON - Arthur PATTERSON, aged 55 years, of Holcomb, died at Memorial hospital, Wednesday night, of pneumonia.

+ The will of Michael KEATING, who died in the town of Victor, March 16, has been admitted to probate by Surrogate Fred D. CRIBB, involving personal property with about $200 and real estate valued in the neighborhood of $3,000. The entire estate is bequeathed the widow, Mrs. Mary S. KEATING, of Victor, who qualifies as executrix.
+ An appraisal of the estate of James H. HASLETT of Phelps shows he left property aggregated $44,656.47. From this was deducted $2,607.35 in debts and expenses, leaving a net estate of $42,049.12, on which was levied a tax of $370.49. Disposition of property follows: Thomas HASLETT, brother of Geneva, $14,016.37; May T. ALVORD of Bayonne, NJ and Ruth T. BEERS of Bridgeport, Conn., nieces, $4,672.12 each; Elizabeth LAWRENCE and Townsend LAWRENCE, great niece and great nephew, both of New York City, $2,236.06 each .
+ Albert F. ROBSON of Seneca Town left a gross estates of $45,525.08. Debts, commissions and expenses reduced this to $42,747.02, on which was levied a tax of $415.71. Of the net estate, $1,176.34 passes to Number Nine Presbyterian Church of Seneca Town and $250 each to the church cemetery and the Seneca Cemetery Association. The maid of honor wore chamois yellow chiffon and carried Tallisman roses and sweet peas. John S. Avery was his brother's best man, and ushers were Theodore D. and James A. Avery, brothers of the bridegroom, and William E. O'Rourke and Robert W. Harral, all members of this city.
A reception and dinner at Averhill, east lake shore, followed the ceremony. After a two week's trip to Maine, Mr. and Mrs. Avery will live at 344 North Main Street.

The mother of the bride wore a gown of blue lace with blue hat and a shoulder bouquet of pink roses and gypsophila. Mrs. Avery was in maroon and black print chiffon gown with white accessories. Her shoulder bouquet was of American Beauty roses and violets. A reception and dinner at Averhill, east lake shore, followed the ceremony. After a two weeks' trip to Maine, Mr. and Mrs. Avery will live at 344 North Main street, Canandaigua.
Mr. Avery is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, Class of 1926, and of the School of Commerce of Rochester. He is employed in the office of Neisner Brothers, Rochester. His bride also is an Academy graduate, Class of 1932, and attended the Rochester Business Institute. There were numerous prenuptial events, which included a variety shower by Mrs. Otto Kerskie and Mrs. Clifton Collins of Rochester at the home of Mrs. Kerskie in Victor. Lois is the daughter of Mr. Webster and Emma Grinnell.

One Killed and Several Hurt In Vicinity Accidents - Miss Margurite Lillian CLARKE, of Rochester, suffered fatal injuries, John RYAN of this city was critically hurt and several others received injuries in a series of accidents in this vicinity.
Miss CLARKE, aged 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. CLARK, died in Memorial hospital, Sunday. It was reported that Donald HAAK, 21, of Victor, driver of the car in which Miss CLARKE was riding in, the Buffalo road, Saturday night, attempted to pass a truck when he crashed into an automobile operated by Kenneth SCHOTTS, 40, of Meadville, Pa. SCHOTTS suffered a chest injury. The dead girl's sister, Betty, 10, suffered internal injuries; Miss Edna ERBE, 20 of Cheshire, and HAAK, suffered cuts and bruises. Coroner Leon A. STETSON of Ontario county, will conduct an inquest. Besides her parents and sister, Miss CLARKE is survived by a brother, Richard J. CLARKE.
Slight improvement was reported, Thursday afternoon, in the condition of John R. RYAN, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward RYAN, North Main street, who has been in a critical condition at Geneva General hospital following the automobile accident early Tuesday morning. RYAN driving toward Canandaigua in a dense fog, was struck head-on by a truck driven by Theodore SCHUCHARDT of Endicott. His injuries include a fractured skull, compound fractures of the left leg, broken nose, lacerations about he face and chest injuries. SCHUCHARDT received cuts and bruises about the chest and legs.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred NUDD of Chapin, suffered shock and bruises, Saturday night, when NUDD attempted to turn into the driveway of their home and was struck by a machine operated by Wayne GOODELL, 20, of Shortsville. Mrs. NUDD, riding in the right front seat, was thrown into the rear seat.
Edward HANOVEN of Gibson street, this city, and Jack LYNAUGH of Canandaigua town, received cuts and bruises in a subsequent collision near the NUDD home. According to sheriff Ernest W. KERSKLE, LYNAUGH was operating a truck east on the Chapin Road, while HANOVEN was proceeding west, when the machines sideswiped, as they were about to pass.
