+ Announcement has been made of the approaching marriage of Miss Mary LANCER of Lima, and Walter L. TRICKEY of Rochester, son of Mrs. Cora A. TRICKEY of this city. The wedding will take place in St. Joseph's church, Rochester, Saturday morning (June 27th).
+ Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Lulu J. COMSTOCK of Penn Yan, a former member of the Academy faculty, and Fred H. GUYLE of Auburn, former state trooper at Penn Yan, now associated with the bureau of investigations of the State Police Troop D. The wedding took place in Friend Methodist church, Jerusalem, Saturday afternoon.
+ John R. RYAN, who has been a patient in Geneva General hospital for over 7 months following an automobile crash, is spending two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward RYAN, North Main street. He will then return to the hospital for further treatment.
+ Mr. and Mrs.. Harold BRANDOW of Geneva will entertain the KINDE family reunion, July 4th, at their cottage on Seneca Lake. Guests will be Mr. and Mrs. Herbert OSKAMP and son Clifford, and Mr. and Mrs. H. J. HOOLIHAN of Syracuse, Miss Elsie J. KINDE will be given a variety shower.
+ (This is how the article appeared in the paper.. errors and all) Harold O. BACON, chief deputy under Sheriff, Ernest W. KERSKIE has announced his resignation effective July 1st. Ill health which prevents him from continuing the arduous duties of his office, is given as the reason for Deputy Sheriff BACON'S sheriff by Sheriff John C. BOLLES, Mr. BACON has served in that capacity retirement. Appointed as deputy for 10 years under Sheriff BOLLES, Frank CORWIN, Harry E. TAFT and Ernest W. KERSKIE. (makes no sense to me!)

+ Miss Frances L. MEREDITH, daughter of W. J. MEREDITH, West Lake road, was graduated from Geneva High school, Tuesday evening, with honors in dramatics.
+ Mrs. J. J. CLEVELAND, Dugan street, has left for Manchester, Mass., to spend the summer. Her daughter, Mrs. John E. PECK, who accompanied her, will return Sunday.
+ Mr. and Mrs.. A. S. HINMAN of park Avenue, and their guest, Miss Gertrude FARRINGTON, have taken possession of their cottage, Boulder Beach, East Lake road, for the season.
+ Mr. and Mrs. John S. RIPPEY and three daughters, Harriet, Sally and Janet RIPPEY, Park avenue, are spending a month at the Rippey camp near Dear Run, East Lake shore.
+ Miss Eleanor May BELL, daughter of Mrs. Nellie V. BELL of Canandaigua, was graduated from Genesee Wesleyan at Lima, at the annual commencement exercises on Monday, June 22.
+ Mrs. Lewis H. ADAMS of this city and her daughter, Mrs. Albert J. FOSTER, of the West Lake shore, have issued invitations for a dessert bridge at the Canandaigua Country Club next Monday afternoon.
+ Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. FURMAN and daughters, Misses Alice and Margaret of Brooklyn, will arrive Friday, to spend the summer with Mrs. FURMAN'S father, W. M. CROWLY, at Twisted Elms, West Lake shore.
+ Miss Marjorie THOMAS, Hubbell street, attended the wedding Saturday, of Miss Eleanor JUDD of Keuka Park and Ralph WILKES, a teacher in Elbridge High School. The ceremony took place in Richardson lounge at Keuka College. Miss THOMAS remained for the weekend with Miss Sarah CHALLICE of Penn Yan.

Canandaigua - Mrs. Ida Mae GOFF BARNUM, 52, wife of
Fred BARNUM of Cheshire, died here yesterday
in Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Canandaigua town.
CHARLES J. SCHELL
Canandaigua - Charles J. SCHELL, 59, died at his
home in Cheshire Sunday. Surviving are the widow, two sons, Harold
J. and Charles J. SCHELL of Canandaigua; two daughters, Mrs.
Fern FORBES of Canandaigua and Miss Lillian May SCHELL
of Newark; five brothers and five sisters, all residing in Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be in the home at 2 p.m. today with burial in Lavonia.
CHARLES H. WRIGHT
Canandaigua - Charles H. WRIGHT, 77, died in his
home in Cooley Road, Sunday after a long illness. Surviving are the widow; three
sons, William of Rochester, Clarence of
Pittsford and Leonard WRIGHT of Canandaigua.
Funeral services will be in the home at 2 p.m. today.

DAILEY - GREGG - Miss Lucy Gregg, daughter of Mrs. John B. Gregg, Bristol street, and Leonard C. Dailey, also of Canandaigua, were married, Wednesday afternoon, at the Baptist parsonage in Hemlock, the Rev. Ernest Reamer officiating. Attendants were Miss Jane G. Hollister of Middletown and John B. Gregg, cousin of the bride, of Rochester. The bride was gowned in powder blue crepe with a corsage of gardenias and pink rose buds. Miss Hollister wore dark blue flowered crepe with a corsage of golden daisies and white sweet peas. After the ceremony, the wedding party returned to the home of the bride's mother, where a wedding supper was served. The color scheme was green, pink and white, with apple blossoms predominating. Miss Mary Jane Gregg, niece of the bride, and Anna Lee, both of Canandaigua, served. The bride is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy and of Keuka College, and is a member of the faculty of the Hemlock school.

NADEAU - MANNING - Miss Margaret Frances MANNING, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. MANNING of Rochester, and Donald L. NADEAU, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. NADEAU, West Gibson street, were married Sunday afternoon, at the home of the bride's parents. The ceremony was performed by the groom's grandfather, the Rev. Samuel EATON, D.D. of Canandaigua, in the presence of the families and a few close friends. Attendants were Miss Mildred BAIRD of Rochester and Frederick E. NADEAU, brother of the groom. The bride was gowned in light blue crepe with a corsage of pink sweet peas and violets. Miss BAIRD wore pink flowered crepe with a corsage of pink sweet peas. Mr. and Mrs. NADEAU left for a brief motor trip. The groom is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1935 and is employed as bookkeeper at the Canandaigua Electric Appliance Corporation. His bride is employed in Rochester. Mr. and Mrs. NADEAU and family of this city, and the groom's aunt, Mrs. ERFORD and Mr. ERFORD, of Elba, attended the wedding.
HOWLAND - WHITE - The marriage of Miss Ruth Lura WHITE to Rea Vernon HOWLAND of Chapin took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles WHITE (cut off)
Obituaries:
SANFORD - Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa Nethaway SANFORD, 86, will be held from the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. E. Murray BENHAM, South Pearl street, this Friday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. S. S. PRATT will officiate and interment will be made in Woodlawn cemetery. Mrs. SANFORD died at the Canandaigua Health Home, Wednesday, after a long period of failing health. she was the widow of Mahlon SANFORD. Surviving are two grandchildren, Mrs. E. Murray BENHAM of this city, and Irwin S. HICKS of Bristol; also four great grandchildren.
DE ROSA - Funeral services for Mrs. Madeline DE ROSA, 73, widow of Frank DE ROSA, who died Monday evening at the home of her son, Nicolas DE ROSA, in Pleasant street, were held from St. Mary's church, Thursday morning. Interment was made in Calvary cemetery. Survivors are two sons, Nicholas and Joseph DE ROSA, and one daughter, Mrs. Patsy BOVENZI of this city; a brother and sister, John DE MUSIO and Mrs. Jennie BURELLO of Italy; also 21 grandchildren.
MULLEN - Mrs. Clarabela MULLEN, 79, of Cheshire, died Thursday at her home. She was born in Rushville, the daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Whitman GREEN. Surviving are one son, Roy D. MULLEN and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the home, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. S. S. PRATT officiating. Interment will be made in Pine Bank Cemetery.
LATTER - Miss May LATTER, 39, a nurse at Brigham Hall, who had been ill in Memorial Hospital since March 14th, died Tuesday morning. The remains were taken to Syracuse. Miss LATTER leaves one sister, Mrs. Willard HORN of Syracuse. Her mother, Mrs. Rosa B. LATTER died here March 31st.

Wedding Bells - BARRY - MC KAY - One of the season's lovely brides was Miss Helen Patricia MC KAY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas MC KAY of Canandaigua, whose marriage to Howard Richard BARRY of Rochester, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest BARRY of Fishers, took place Wednesday morning, June 8th at 9 o'clock in St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Michael C. J. WALL, pastor of the church.
The bride who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin en train and a long tulle veil fell from a crown of seed pearls. She carried a white prayer book with a shower of white rosebuds. Miss Kathleen M. CALLAHAN of Canandaigua was maid of honor. She wore a gown of blue chiffon, a bandeau of rhinestones and silver slippers. Her bouquet was of Spring flowers. The bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth WYFFELS and Miss Elizabeth FINNICK of Canandaigua. Both wore peach organza, with matching halos of net and white sandals. They carried spring flowers. The junior bridesmaids were Lois and Lorraine BARRY of Fishers, twin sisters of the bridegroom. They wore matching gowns of pink organdy, with white pole bonnets and carried old fashioned bouquets. Walter ALLING of Rochester was best man. The ushers were Amos MC KAY of Canandaigua, brother of the bride, and Thomas BARRY of Fishers, brother of the groom.
The bride's mother wore a gown of navy sheer with a blue hat trimmed in white, and a corsage of variegated rosebuds. The mother of the groom wore a gown of deep blue lace with hat to match and a corsage of variegated rosebuds. The ceremony was followed by a wedding breakfast in the church hall, served to about 50 relatives and friends. The bridal bouquets were used as centerpieces. In the afternoon, a large reception took place at the home of the bride's parents with members of the bridal party and the parents of the bride and groom, receiving. Mr. and Mrs. BARRY left on a motor trip to the Adirondack Mountains. Upon their return they will reside in Rochester. Mr. BARRY is a former student of Victor High school.

COYNE - DIETZ - Miss Geraldine K. DIETZ, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John DIETZ, North Main street, and John J. COYNE, son of Mr. and Mrs. John COYNE, Howell street, were married Thursday morning in St. Mary's church, the Rev. Michael C. J. WALL performing the ceremony. The alter was banked with Madonna lilies. The bride was gowned in white chiffon with a pleated bolero jecket. Her halo veil was of Chantilly lace and she carried a bouquet of bride roses and baby breath. She was attended by her sister, Miss Mary Jane DIETZ, who wore aqua chiffon voile with a heart shaped pink hat and pink accessories and carried Talisman roses. William COYNE was best man for his brother and Leo DONOHUE of Canandaigua and Paul SHERRY of Geneva were ushers. The bride's mother wore an ensemble of black and white with black accessories. The groom's mother was unable to be present because of illness. A wedding breakfast was served to 40 at Miller's Colonial Inn, where the bride's bouquet, Madonna lilies and the bride's cake formed the table decorations. A reception to 200 guests followed at the home of the bride where seasonable flowers and lilies were used in profusion. Out of town guests were from Buffalo, Rochester, Geneva, Syracuse, St. Peterburg, Fla., and Ocean Grove, NJ. After a short trip, Mr. and Mrs. COYNE will live at 141 South Main street. The bride's going away costume was a pink and blue ensemble with pink accessories. Mr. COYNE is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy and his bride attended Nazareth Academy, Rochester, and St. Joseph's Academy, Coral Gables, Fla.
OVENSHIRE - SMITH - The marriage of Miss Ruth SMITH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison A. SMITH of Buffalo, and granddaughter of Amos KINNEAR of Canandaigua, and the Rev. Lewis F. OVENSHIRE, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Guy M. OVENSHIRE, also of Buffalo, (cut off)
LOWE - MULVEY - In St. Mary's rectory, Saturday morning, took place the marriage of Miss Helen F. MULVEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. MULVEY of Gorham street, and Allan E. LOWE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth LOWE of South Main street. The Rev. M. C. J. WALL, rector, performed the ceremony. Attendants were Miss Mary SHERRY and Thomas WELCH of this city. Mr. and Mrs. LOWE left for a short wedding trip and are now living in Gorham street.
KENNEDY - NEWTON - Thomas D. KENNEDY, Canandaigua city treasurer, and Miss Roby NEWTON of Peterburg, VA., were married in that city, Thursday morning. Attendants were Miss Jean NEWTON, sister of the bride, and James P. DONOVAN of this city. After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. KENNEDY will live at 124 West Gibson street.

+ PROSSER - WILLIAMS, SKELLETT - BAUER - Miss Loraina P. WILLIAMS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. WILLIAMS of Orleans, became the bride of Ellis E. PROSSER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn D. PROSSER of Victor, and Miss Elsie M. BAUER, daughter of Ernest BAUER of Palmyra, became the bride of R. Stuart SKELLETT, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph SKELLETT of Hopewell, Saturday, October 15th. The ceremony took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn PROSSER at 7:30 pm, the Rev. Stephen S. PRATT of Canandaigua, officiating. Each couple acted as attendants for the other couple.
Miss WILLIAMS wore navy blue with accessories to match, while Miss BAUER wore wine with matching accessories. Each bride wore a corsage of pink roses. After a wedding trip into Pennsylvania, Mr. and Mrs. SKELLETT will reside in Hopewell, while Mr. and Mrs. PROSSER will leave October 24, for Los Angeles, Calif., where they plan to make their home.

place the funeral of Charles R. Mather, well known
resident, who died in Memorial Hospital Monday after a long illness. The
Rev. Charles N. St. John, pastor of the Congregational Church, conducted
the service. Bearers were Samuel M. Douglass,
Ray E. Douglass, A. E. McGrew, William S. Moore, Glenn N. Jones and George H.
Stempel. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

William Rannie Smith, 65, died suddenly of a heart attack early this morning at his home, 76 Gorham Street.
Born in Canandaigua, September 3, 1873, Mr. Smith was the son of the late William M. and Harriet Rannie Smith. He was educated in the
public schools and in the old Canandaigua Academy, and as a young man was associated in the bakery business with his father.
Later he went to Detroit and for 22 years was employed in the Ford Manufacturing plant. He retired and returned to his former home about a
year ago.
Mr. Smith leaves only his wife, Mrs. Mabel VanDenbergh Smith. Funeral services will be Saturday from the home. Interment will be
in Woodlawn Cemetery.

RYAN - Thomas RYAN of Canandaigua, passed away Thursday, May 11, 1939, at Oak Mount Sanitorium, East Bloomfield. He was 75 years old. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna RYAN; a brother, Michael RYAN of Rochester. Funeral services took place from St. Patrick's church in Victor, Saturday morning.

+ KAVENY - William F. KAVENY, 63, died Sunday (May 28) afternoon at his home on the Butler road after a short illness. He was born in Canandaigua, October 15, 1875, and conducted a large poultry farm.
He leaves 4 sons and 2 daughters, John, William, and Robert KAVENY of Rochester; Paul and Misses Ruth and Mary KAVENY of Canandaigua; also a sister and brother, Mrs. Helen K. FLANNIGAN of Canandaigua and Thomas KAVENY of Pittsburgh.
The funeral was held Wednesday from St. Mary's church. Interment was made in Calvary cemetery.
